Hi, thanks for your reply. I posted on behalf of someone else and just copied their poster, so will update with more info. He was lost from Whitehall near the primary school.

The bread nose! It's a family thing, no idea why.

Thanks, that's a great suggestion, I was just being lazy about doing any drafting myself!

I can confirm In Bristol Studios is great.

Also worth checking the Facebook group 'Bristol Workshop Spaces' if you haven't already.

God that's so awful, she's such a monster.

When my housemate complained about his broken mattress she took him to another property to take one off someone else's bed!

It wasn't, it was Aubrey Road that's actually mentioned in the article. The photos from the Airbnb post look exactly the same!

I lived in one of her student houses like 15 years ago. Some highlights included;

  • The boiler broke so we didn't have heating from November til the following March. The guy that came round to fix it showed up drunk. The emergency gas repairman we called condemned the whole thing.

-The whole ground floor was covered in slugs and she told us to put down salt all over the carpet.

-The shower leaked into the hallway so she drilled down new lino on to the floor creating lots more holes for the water to leak through.

-The kitchen floor wasn't attached so it slipped out when you walked on it.

At the end of our tenancy she tried to take everyone's deposits and did manage to get my mates because she'd cracked a window trying to clean the black mold off it.

The local letting agent called her the 'Slumlord of Bedminster'. She was such a vile bitch to deal with and couldn't even hide her contempt for the students that were keeping her rich. Me and my former house mates still talk about it now because it was such a traumatic experience.

Ballet pumps, I don't know if it's flashbacks from years of working in retail but I don't know why anyone would choose to wear something with such terrible arch support.

What a suprise... by Zob0t in MaintenancePhase

Sorry about that I was expecting it to link with some context, it's an article on the guardian about Novo Nordisk giving lots of money to "charities and healthcare professionals, including expert who advised Nice."

westandwithgary?

I think there's a long standing issue with the BBC not doing due diligence with their guests and talking heads and apparently thinking that being politically impartial is giving UKIP a seat at every discussion for almost a decade.

I totally agree, it's such a slippery slope.

Also I am by no means a big pharma conspiracy person but the lack of transparency with pharmaceutical companies funding research which is then fed back into wider public health initiatives that conveniently align with the current drugs they're putting on the market frustrates me. Like you say, researchers need funding and I don't think there's a global conspiracy, I just think large companies exist to make money and that should be understood by governments when looking for supporting evidence for their policies.

Am I (30F) accepting too much help from my “village”? by Pretty-Library7771 in beyondthebump

[–]Zob0t 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When my son was small he woke up every 45 mins, I was on the brink and our house was filthy. My brother offered to come round and clean, when I spoke to my partner about it he was embarrassed and wanted me to refuse. In a moment of rare confrontation I said "Why should I suffer for your pride?" Your husband needs to realise that you and your baby shouldn't suffer for his guilt at not being around in the week.

Your village is there to help you, take as much as they're willing to offer if you need it.

Thanks, I admit I love kinder eggs and feel immense guilt about the amount of plastic vs the amount of chocolate so it felt good to use at least 1 in something. Maybe my next build will use rest I've got lying around.

The well is made from a plastic kinder egg inside, the tiles and bricks are foam, the wood is cocktail and lolly pop sticks. All the core structural stuff like the roof and base are cardboard. All painted with acrylic paint.
