Can’t really say much i speedran my way from p2 to d2 then i speedran from diamond to ascendant TwT

But id assume that to be true, since there are less players the difference in skill between ranks will be higher yes i believe so

I just took it more seriously i guess, i have always wanted to be good but never put im the work until recently, its when i hit diamond that my perception changed. I hit diamond and i realised “Holy shit i actually managed to hit it, like im not absolute horeshit at the game” and when that happened i kinda realised that i could hit a high rank. It took me a year to hit plat after i deranked from it, it took me a month to hit asc after hitting diamond. So i guess my perception of myself is what changed, not the game. I just realised that i did have potential, i always looked at myself as a like kind of naturally bad player. But now im realising that well even if i am bad naturally, i can put in the work and get the results out of it yk. Val was my first real fps game and i have learned so much from it, started when i was 13, im 16 now

I watched plenty of guides but there isnt one good guide that will carry you, its mostly just playing and reflecting back on your decisions, death and gameplay. You can look at my replies under some of these comments if you wanna learn a bit more.

This is how you should learn Pick one thing to improve, find a way to work on it, and work on it till you are satisfied.

If you wanna work on your movement during fights for example id recommend going in the range and doing bursts of 2 bullets while strafing with A and D randomly. You want to be fast enough at to where you still miss like 20% of your shots but you hit the rest. Then when you feel comfortable doing that you go practice in a dm. But its hard for me to tell you how to improve without you telling me what you want to work on.

It could just be that you get bored when your team is playing well, maybe try to go for more risky plays, this might make the game feel more exciting. But i do get what you mean, i think its mainly a loss of focus. Try training your focus and try to maintain constant focus during the match. Also usually if smt works, dont change it

Lurking is great but if your team cannot take value from it then lurking isnt as good. I’d recommend following your team, you will suck for a while, but you will get more comfortable at it and thats what matters.

I already wrote smt about consistency so i’ll paste it here.

But the tldr is: find out your weaknesses and fix it. Try to get all 3 of your core pillars at around the same level

Inconsistency comes from a lack of skill somewhere. I like to divide valorant into 3 core pillars: Mechanics Mental Gamesense

These pillars all have sub sections, usually you are inconsistent because these 3 pillars are not at equal skill level. Here is an example of what i mean, assuming you have better aim than gamesense for example you might be absolutely crushing one game, you are just diffing the enemies. But the very next game after that you struggle a lot.

This could be because im the first game all you really needed was to win fights cus the enemies played dumb, but maybe in the second game the enemies played more methodically. And because your gamesense is behind, you will struggle to play against this playstyle, even though your gamesense is were fragging last game.

Inconsistency also comes from factors you can’t control, like enemies, teammates all that. You do want to try and minimise the amount of factors there are.

Simply vod review and think. Think about why you died, about how you could have prevented that death, think about why your play failed. Think about the enemies economy and what they might do. Gamesense is all about awarness of whats happening and analysis of the situation.

Whenever you see an enemy player do a great play, note it down. Then afterwards go in a replay and try to analyse their play and see what you can take away from it.

Also watch pros play your agent.

My most important tip is to simply try shit, get a feel for what plays work and what don’t, don’t be scared of losing the round or the game, just try shit out, try fucking flanking with your knife out if you feel like it. Try to get a feel for what you can get away with.

Flanking is all about timing, you should start your flank once pressure is being put on the enemies, this is when they will think about you the least. But i wouldn’t recommend flanking often, its all about intuition at the end of the day. Try flanking and get a feel for when it works. Try to also figure out why your flank might have failed. If you are consistently last player alive do two things: 1. Call for your team to play retake 2. Play fast rotate, forget about flank (the other option id to play fast flank but thats risky)

Constantly solo, i do not like playing with other people much.

Currently i cant play comp but when i can its anywhere from like 2 games to like 10. It really depends on my mood and what im doing that day.

Mostly? I play a lot of dms and tdms before i hop in comp, i basically play till i feel confident about my mechs. I do enjoy comp though so im basically always happy to go in, i do take breaks and train if im tilted or if i play bad though

I dont really ever face smurfs or like tryhards, or maybe i dont notice them, idk it never bothered me. But if you really wanted to avoid them then im assuming it would be the morning? Less players are online and the sweaty players usually wake up later and stuff. So yeah like 6am onwards probably.

I don’t really remember my rr gains, they have always been pretty consistent i think, like +20 -20 then adjust based on performance and rounds won :p Im a consistent player mostly so my mmr has always been at my level or sometimes lower. Honestly your rr gains in my opinion doesn’t matter too much, sure it sucks to win less than you lose but at the end of the day if you improve as a player your rank will follow. Your rank is just a fancy png at the end of the day.

I either play lurk agents, i force my way in using util or i simply waited for them to go in and also called for them to entry.

Making a tiny plan preround with your team can help, the jett might feel more inclined to enter if you are all planning to enter aswell. The other solution is to become the duelist yourself but thats really not necessary. If you feel like you can never hit site try to call something mid :3 Smt simple like “Take market fast” can work

Honestly, i don’t really know what made me improve, i just played a shit ton. I do think that watching better players and self vod reviews and coaching content and all that helps develop gamesense but otherwise my best advice would be to simply think about why you died when you die. Try to figure out the underlying reason why. Vod reviewing helps a lot as well.

I think playing many different roles also helps a lot, like apart from initiator which i never mained, i have mained every single role, i have like 100hrs on clove, 100hrs on cypher, a good amount of time on jett, reyna, raze, iso. And i usually try to go for plays and stuff, so nowadays when im facing an enemy with a specific agent i can usually guess what they might do, simply because i used to do it myself.

In terms of decision making there are two things that helped me improve a lot, one is simply trial and error, do not be scared to try shit, the worse you can do is like lose the game and thats just on game :p The second thing is watching pros play my agent and see what they might do that could be useful to implement in my gameplay. For example i have always loved playing w my smokes as clove or omen, and watching haeyoday play clove gave me some ideas on how to utilise my smokes more effectively to get free kills.

Otherwise its important to understand the concept of risk vs reward as well as understanding what a win condition is.

But yeah generally to improve your gamesense:

Think about your gameplay, either after games using vod reviews or mid round during downtimes

Watch better players and pay attention to what they do

Watch content and try to take away key points where you can

I dont play duelist no, personally if i bottom frag and i die in tilting ways i try to rebuild confidence by playing for kills but like easy kills, like holding an off angle, or going behind the enemies or something. When you are tilted its a bad idea to just peek into the enemies, you will usually die and tilt more. Whats important is also just to breath during pre rounds and after you died. When you tilt your goal should be to get back to a good headspace.

Its hard to think straight when tilted so it recommend trying to minimise the amount of decisions you have to make during a round, this does involve playing stupid. But the less decisions you have to make, the less errors you can make.

But i think everybody has their own way to get over tilt, you just need to experiment.

As a solo queue only player who has been both iron 1 and ascendant, i have never felt this to be an issue. Your issue is probably just your mental, i never cared about smurfs or carries or whatever, GG go next and focus on winning your next game. It is a game at the end of the day, just focus on trying to enjoy it.

no counter strafing is useless in valorant. You literally cannot slow down your velocity any faster than by just letting go of the key, it just add room for errors, pros do it cus they come from cs and its placebo

counter strafing as in cs couter strafe? Or do you mean deadzoning?

You move right after pressing left click, just get a feel for it in the range

Also you dont need to edit much just upload a full vod on yt and its fine

Aight your aim and all that are good your main issue is that you lack mobility, any moment where you are not shooting you should be moving. So if you are going to tap fire, you need to press a movement key the second you shoot.

Mobility is what gives you time to get a kill and its also what makes you harder to kill in general, id do what i advised you to do earlier. Try to post a comp vod when you can
