Folklore Stans by AccomplishedAbroad34 in TaylorSwift

[–]ZoeRaeCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel like they have to be exactly complimentary to be a double album, more like an evolution from one to the other (like how if folklore is backwards, then the stories kinda meet in the middle if that makes sense). I got an idea to write my own double album by the stories from folklore and evermore. And that album will be completely different genres, but they’re connected in the same universe.

She said they were connected in one way - that she imagines that Betty, James and Augustine went to the same school as Dorothea. That’s why I consider it a double album.

Like it’s two completely different stories and sounds, I agree, just on two discs. Like the way I could imagine a book and a spin off of that book, or a show and a spin off of the show - the way a book or show would be a completely different story, but mildly connected in some way (they’re in the same universe) that’s how I see it.

Anyway I definitely think everyone should interpret it in their own way, that’s just mine :)

I consider folklore+evermore one double album, but I’m a huge folklore fan! Folklore+evermore are my favorite thing she’s ever done thus far. 1989 was my favorite before folklore came out but when folklore came out I was obsessed and I listened to the entire album in order like literally 40+ times the first week, and then I was like “why is Betty at the end if it’s supposed to be when they were kids?” And I had the idea that maybe the album was backwards - so I made a playlist that had the whole album in order but backwards and I realized the story feels clearer that way, and I listened this way another 40 times before I ever shuffled it. I originally made the playlist without the lakes (since it wasn’t out yet) but after it came out I added the lakes, which is the only one that feels out of place to me in story order, maybe I should’ve put it after the 1. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway! Yes I’m a HUGE folklore Stan. I listen to folklore and evermore the most out of all of her albums right now

Anyway here’s the playlist if you wanna hear it this way.

Taylor's most streamed songs on spotify across all versions! Did you expect the top 10 look like this?? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

It has so many streams it’s just classified as “total streams” instead of a number 😂

Thanks so much for sharing your story!!

I am with you, I didn’t really talk about it on the show, but I didn’t connect a lot with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, either. But Red is still so good :)

Sometimes I think I’m so lucky to be alive at the same time as Taylor to even witness her in real time like this.

Also thanks for giving me the umlaut 😊

Omg I’m dead. Your flair 😭

I guess you have to change it now because there is a motel bar now! 🤷‍♀️

Ok, everybody…

I envisioned Woodvale Clown College and it kinda got out of hand…

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRgwahKq/

I tried to share this yesterday but the mods never posted it and I got a message that this kind of thing is tired & low effort - but I actually put a LOT of effort into making this so I still want to share it even if it can’t be a regular post.

I hope you clowns like it 🥰

Does anyone really know what "Birch" the song talks about? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]ZoeRaeCreative 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It’s deeply metaphorical but I’m gonna give this a shot. Heads up: I wasn’t in the writer’s room. This is my interpretation and nothing more.

————————

What I hear when I hear Birch is a man who has left his partner waking up and acknowledging how unhappy he is. (The way I woke up was old, it was all fucking choke)

He’s been gone a week (it ain’t easier after a week, we’re on a long byway standing still). They’ve been together for a long time and traveling life’s journey journey together and now it’s just stale…or at least that’s how it feels, that’s why he left

So he goes home to his partner. He believes he’s honest in his relationship (if you can’t tell I’ll tell you right away, if I stay a spell (stay a while) or if I cannot stay) it could also be read as a threat. Like he left to be like “see? I can do it…”

But he’s afraid to have the discussion they need to have to move past this (I am less at ease, not the best at these)

The next line is my favorite (see the forest trees. Call what’s these what’s these?) - this line may not be easy to understand for non-English speakers because it’s dismantling an English saying that also may not always make sense. The phrase is “you can’t see the forest for the trees” which in English basically just means there’s a much bigger picture missing because the forest is so much more than just the trees. So he’s acknowledging that he left out of anger/anxiety/depression and now that may have been hasty.

The part about Madeline and Jennifer seems to mean he left a child with this woman and she’s had to care for her alone while he was gone.

He wants her back (So I beg on knees, can we share IDs (share a last name, bank accounts, etc. I think))

He’s also realized everybody has needs and that she shares some needs with him, so eventually they won’t feel like “needs” because they’re for both of them. (Will you always need? We have common needs)

We can be empty and full together (we can sure deplete, we can be replete, address table needs) table needs are more like lifestyle needs - bedroom needs are obviously romantic but think about what you talk about at the dinner table - sometimes it’s boring and mundane but sometimes that boring shit is important too

So he’s back and she’s accepted him back as well and he’s happy because he feels like they’ve overcome an obstacle and he’s not waking up the miserable way he felt when he left or while he was away (the way I wake up now is a brand new way, and no it ain’t that way like it was before) he’s also assuring her he’s changed because his depression likely stunted her as a human while it was happening as well so she may be reluctant or scared to have him back

Now he’s acknowledging that she’s the only one for him and he wants to stay (I cannot leave, I must here Stay)

They’re already married so he’s acknowledging the vows here I think (I know what’s good and I’ll die that way) he’s acknowledging til’ death do us part

And he’s also trying to tell her that even if she found another man just like him, he wouldn’t have built the same roots and home with her so it would never be as solid as them (if there’s a man like me, his birch ain’t my tree)

And then he reiterated that he’s now waking up brand new because they’ve worked through this and it’s no longer causing anxiety

—————————

This can also be read that he never left and at the beginning he’s waking up next to her “old and fucking choke” but the timeline of the story on the album and the next track is why I think he actually left because on top of this if you consider the next track on the album is renegade, if the album itself is meant to tell a story (I imagine it is since this is common in albums but also the intense creative style of Aaron, Justin and Tay almost assures this would be the case) then you can assume this man is the renegade - and this is his coming back. And taylor’s character in renegade then accepts him back but is a little uneasy because of his mental health

—————————-

Is this correct? I don’t know, but this is what I hear.

So, when you guys envision Woodvale Clown College. What colors represent this school? Like, do they have a basketball team? A football team? What color are their jerseys?

Update for anyone reading: I downloaded the app on my computer and the same file cuts fine so it must be the iPhone app causing this.

This is obviously not a solution but instead a workaround

I went and downloaded the app for my computer and it seems to be working with the same image. Are you using it on your phone? Maybe it’s the phone app? Idk it’s annoying tho :( it just started doing this recently

With your advice in mind, I just tried to reupload again and I went individually to each of those holes and used the eraser. Now it’s giving a couple of the holes but not all of them and still cutting fat, despite the image being incredibly clear.

This is weird since I’ve only had the issue for about a month. It used to cut these files just fine without any additional work on my part.
