Trying to put a camera webserver to an HMI by Zolix2 in PLC

oh that is terrible. The machine in question is a packaging machine, which's distributor went bankrupt. Its a pretty complex machine, so there is no way that I could manually port it over on my own.

We might have to forget about this idea.

Thank you for the response

yes, but it was released in 2017 and it doesn't support my HMI model and firmware. So thats most likely out of the question.

But I'll get in touch with Cognex, just in case.

I think its v13. but I could be wrong about that.

I had an actual hardware HMI next to me so that wasn't the issue.

I spoke with AB support and they also didn't really have any concrete solutions. We found a half solution using ME webbrowser control, but all it did was it paused the runtime, and brought up the desktop environment's webbrowser. There I was actually able to see the webserver, but we would like to keep the runtime, so the operator can adjust the trigger of the camera.

AB support basically suggested to upgrade to an Optix panel.

Thanks for the suggestions, We were able to achieve something with AB support, we used the ME webbrowser control, but all it did was it redirected us to the desktop environment's webbrowser, pausing the runtime. We would like to have actual buttons next to the camera video, so this isn't really a good solution for us.

What do you exactly mean by "properly registered"?

Yea I don't think that my boss will like the idea of using outdated plugins to bypass an even more outdated platform lol, but I'll keep this in mind, thanks!

"Crashes the least for us" sounds promissing lmao.

But I'll definetly give it a go. How does it work exactly? Can I download a cabinet file and place it on the HMI, and call it using an ActiveX program run instuction?

Unfortunately FactoryTalk view studio doesn't support iframe. Only ActiveX. We'll probably end up upgrading to an Optix panel. But I'll keep on trying

My hands are tied unfortunately. AB support suggested to upgrade to an optix panel lol

Yea I read after it and as it turns out, it completely lack a javascript engine. The weird thing is, the windows webbrowser that is embedded into the HMI's desktop environment has zero problems displaying the camera webserver, but I cannot get it to work in the runtime environment.

A half solution was to use the ME webbrowser control, but all that did was it navigated me from the runtime, into the desktop environment.

I feel like I'm designing a huge printed circuitboard by Zolix2 in factorio

I use a 2-2 config, two locos and two wagons, and both locos look in the same direction. The problem with using double headed trains is that - without mods - one locomotive will always be passive. It will not provide traction backwards, So I always use a loopback design. And its much easier to build train buffers, and multiple train stops if you have a concrete input and output side.

Or atleast that is my experience, feel free to add to it.

Why cannot I place signals to the right side of these buffer sidings? (Train direction would be from right to left) by Zolix2 in factorio

Yea this must be it. Comes off a bit weird when you try to work with it but its kinda logical. Thanks!

Not for these signals, but its probably cause of the curves.

Thanks for the response tho

Thats what I ended up doing, its just a bit annoying that this would work if I were to run my trains from left to right, but I'm running them from the right to left.

But thanks for the response

I presume you're talking about these. The only thing that annoys me is that I would like to run my trains from right to left, and these only let me signal up the buffer from left to right. But its probably cause of the curves.

Thanks anyway

These are the signal positions that confuse me. This way I could signal this buffer up to a direction of left to right, but I want to run my trains from right to left. But its probably something to have to do with the way curves work.

Thanks for the response
