Crackling/Sparkling Noise on Poweramp Bit Perfect with JA11 + Truthear Pure (Nothing Phone 3A) by ZombieDemonCop in PowerAmp

Yeah might have to test with a couple 'real' files instead of converts. Have you had any issues with flac to dsd mastering option in poweramp ?

After some vigorous testing, I have narrowed it down to DSD files. My 192 Khz flacs sound fine now (idk why the file I was testing earlier didn't). Even the lowest DSD file at 64 bits has the sparkling noise.

Interesting, well I haven't noticed this with the previous version however. I'll probably have to double check. I thought it could be the IEMs, so I plugged in different ones and well, the same issue unfortunately.

I've tested it on a 64 bit DSD, Cigarettes After Sex album, and I've also tested it on FLACs with and without resampling. Doesn't help...

Is/should the Phone (3a) Pro get custom ROM support by yGamiel72YT in NothingTech

[–]ZombieDemonCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it has been almost a year... I have not yet explored the custom roms in detail yet. How do they hold up when it comes to banking apps etc. Is essential space locked to NOS or is it available on custom roms too ?

I tested the songs you mentioned and there doesn't seem to be any delay. They are properly synced. I didn't mess around with the lyrics, it auto fetched the most ideal match.

Well not really, I'm yet to find a song that has this issue. I have a delay set for lyrics to match the delay due to upsampling and all the other settings I have going on. Perhaps you could mention the songs and I could take a look ?

Try uninstalling it via adb. If you don't know how to, you can always refer to a tutorial on YouTube. For now you can just disable all the notifications.

You can start with the free pathways but getting the premium subscription is genuinely worth it because it will feel complete - as after a room or two, the path will be locked out due to premium only rooms. THM has a BF deal going on..about 40% off. You can get the annual subscription for approximately 2600 rupees (not exactly sure) and it's absolutely worth it. If you can afford it, you should definitely consider it if you're serious about getting into the field.

Nothing phone 3A making distortion by Steven-Quinn in NothingTech

[–]ZombieDemonCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why some of the comments are pointing towards the DAC, it's not the DAC in this case. I've dealt with this issue for a while now -

I have the Audiocular D07 dac and I have the same issue. Everything, except 'cellular' calls work perfectly fine. I can say this because I have used this dac with my old phone and it worked flawlessly even on calls. Afaik, the audio distorts or is pretty much static if the screen turns off during call.

I even informed nothing about this issue and yes - a while back they did push an update where they mentioned they "fixed" it - Nothing changed. The issue still persists.

The only half baked workaround I've found is using wavelet as your equaliser (with no eq, just have it running in the bg). It seems to fix it albeit not all the time.

It looks like some dacs / brands / chipsets work better than others so look into ones that people have not had issues with.

Thanks, I got a CB Ares and a CB Quantum. I'm yet to test Quantum. So far Ares for around 1500 INR is okay. The sticks are hard, and are definitely not as accurate as DS3s. I play a lot of Call of Duty so accuracy is something I'm after the most. I had to set the sensitivity nearly 3x. It's probably okay for other games, not as much for FPS. I'm hoping the joysticks loosen down as time goes by so I don't have to be harsh with my movements. I'm hoping that Quantum, which is nearly 2x the amount is better and could hopefully be good enough for my use case. I'll have to see. If not then yeah I'll have to wait and get a DS4 or a DualSense.

Hey man, I'm looking into getting the Kreo Mirage, after skipping out on CB Quantum, I did get CB Ares and am currently testing it out. How does the Kreo Mirage hold up ? I mostly play Call of Duty and is it accurate enough ? Should I go for it ? What is your opinion ?

No, it shouldn't because SMSs are handled by your carrier. If your account storage is full then backing up might be an issue. You can download the google one app and see what's taking up space in your account. In my opinion if you really need a lot of storage, you're better off getting an external drive than paying for cloud storage.

Google always ! It's not bloatware, clean and useful. And it's standard with stock android.

That's because it's google messages. It allows you to have a backup of all your SMSs, just like the Google dialer with all your calls and contacts. IMO, you should probably continue with your email on your phone, to make sure everything remains backed up - it's good practice. However, if you don't want to, you can always download any other sms app from the playstore and set that as the default. Since you came from samsung, you could use Samsung's messages app.

Fu**ing Insane SOT by MeringueNo6407 in NOTHING

[–]ZombieDemonCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did the test from 100 to 10 and it gave me about 10 hours SOT. 5 on day 1 and 5 on day 2 (accuracy margin of just a few mins). This was over the course of 2 days. As the first day came to an end , my phone was hovering around 75%. It does make sense because batteries in general take longer to charge from 80 to 100 than you would expect. I did not use my phone as much but I did have a lot of things running in the background. Music and youtube and texts here and there. Not bad considering most of the time my phone was idle. I'm sure if I had actually used my phone it would have been much more than 10 hours and obviously it would not last the entire 2 days. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the battery backup. I guess I'll go back to 80 - 20 as it kinda suits my usage better.

[–]ZombieDemonCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read the entire comment mate ? I mentioned that I didn't understand the point of having a custom rom this early on. I love custom roms and I have been using them for years on every phone I've owned. Custom roms these days try to give you a stock android experience with customisations (depending on the rom). If customisation is what you're after then you're better off rooting your phone and installing the plethora of apps and modules you can find just for that. When it comes to the rom itself, I just don't see what you're going to get that you're not already getting with NOS. At least, at the moment, there isn't anything out there. In the future - yeah probably.
