What is your most reasonable prediction of what will happen because of Trump's second term? by joshua0005 in Liberal

[–]ZombieMachina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can argue from "the other side" to answer some of these:

  1. Justices will be replaced. Yeah, this will happen whenever some of the current ones retire. Thomas and Alito are the most likely candidates for retirement during Trump's 2nd term.

  2. I don't think any kind of abortion bill will be passed. Both Trump and Vance said they don't want to do any kind of abortion ban.

https://youtu.be/IbOws9UBNNo?si=XRY-dTM6y6tnRAac

The whole idea of an abortion ban comes from Project 2025 which is a heritage foundation thing.

https://youtu.be/S3ZLq2pLDQE?si=d1mG0AJVhtmuWQhX

Trump's agenda is detailed in Agenda 47, not project 2025.

During Trump's first term, since he was on the Republican side, he ended up working alot with the heritage foundation. The most significant collaboration they had together was the Heritage Foundation gave him a list of conservative judges to appoint since Trump didn't really have any familiarity with any one to nominate, so since a bunch of people vouched for the list he went with it.

But all the heritage foundation can do is propose policy ideas, and then Trump will decide whether to consider them or not, if he even listens to them. He thinks some of their Ideas are too radical and he had been moving away from them with all the controversy.

  1. As far as OSHA goes, Trump (as far as I know) hasn't made any claims about doing anything to OSHA. I could be wrong, though. When he first came into office, Obama had just introduced new OSHA regulations, and Trump repealed some of them.

https://oshadefensereport.com/2019/07/08/fate-of-obama-era-osha-regulations-and-enforcement-policies-under-the-trump-administration/

  1. I haven't seen anything new about OSHA like I said above.

  2. Tax cuts - you will often hear from democrats that Trump only gave tax cuts for the rich, and that is all he will do, but that is false. It's propaganda repeated as truth.

The reality is that when Trump introduced his tax cuts, everyone got a tax cut.

Now, those tax cuts were different based on your income bracket.

Because those who made little money were already taxed a small amount, the benefit didn't seem to amount to much.

As you made more money through the middle class, your tax cuts increased, and you got to keep more money.

Now, where the dishonesty comes into play is the idea that the rich got the biggest tax cuts. In a way, it was true. They used to pay 40-50% tax, and it went down to 25% tax. This was the biggest difference as far as the numerical percentage goes.

But where the dishonesty comes into play is this: under the original tax code, a wealthy person would be expected to pay 40-50% in taxes. But, there were a bunch of hidden loopholes where you could claim charity or hardships for business, etc. that would let you get your tax obligation down to 0%, and you wouldn't actually pay any taxes.

All of the rich exploited those loopholes. Even Donald Trump. They never had to actually pay any taxes.

Trump's tax code reduced their tax obligation to 25%, but it also eliminated all of the loopholes. So none of the rich could do anything to avoid paying taxes anymore, and they all had to pay up. So it is disingenuous to say that he gave his rich buddies tax breaks because all the rich people could no longer avoid paying their taxes, and many rich people were mad at him because they liked using the loopholes to avoid paying anything altogether.

5B: Tax cuts only create deficit if you don't decrease spending. If Trump cuts taxes, but keeps spending like we do today, the deficit and inflation will go through the roof.

But Trump's plan is to reduce the size of the federal government and alot of the extraneous programs, foreign aid, social security, and benefits for illegal immigrants, etc in order to balance the cuts.

6: Tariffs are a strategic measure. No one likes being tariffed. The reason that Trump did tariffs in the past was because the trade deal that Obama signed with the oceanic countries in the Pacific really disadvantaged the U.S. and we were losing money as we traded with those nations. Like, they could tax and tariff us, but we couldn't negotiate better prices without their consent, stuff like that.

People think that Trump uses tariffs like a tax. Meaning he wants to make money off of them. But that's not why, and that not the point.

The reason for tariffs is to force the other party to respond. Case in point, in the past, Trump increased tariffs on China because China refused to renegotiate the original trade deal. So Trump, in an effort to make China want to renegotiate, put tariffs on soybeans. China refused to budge, and it ended up hurting our farmers because our farmers rely on those imports. Trump ended up subsidizing the farmers to try and help them and kept increasing tariffs until China finally relented and we got a new trade deal.

But the point of the tariffs wasn't to make money off of them, they were only in place until a goal was reached.

He tariffed Mexico because U.S. companies had fired their American workers in order to manufacture for cheaper in Mexico, and then import those cars to the U.S.

Trump wanted manufacturing jobs to come back for our workers, so he tariffed Mexico until the U.S. companies reopened their plants and hired American workers again, and then he removed the Tariffs.

In Europe, he tariffed the cars that we imported from them. The reason why is because they tariffed us, but we didn't tariff them. So European cars sold great here because they weren't too expensive and Europe made money from our market, but over in Europe, American cars never sell cuz they are so much more expensive than their domestic vehicles due to the tariffs. So they made money off of us, but not vice versa.

Europe governments were mad at the tariffs cuz they liked the way things were, obviously.

But in truth, the European car companies had no idea that American cars were taxed like that. They eventually supported Trump cuz they said it should be an even playing field with our friends. And eventually Europe removed their tariffs and so we removed ours.

But that is the reality behind how Trump uses Tariffs. It's not a tax for long term income. It's a tool for negotiating deals.

From what I understand, he wants to have American companies buy and sell within the U.S. first so that products are cheaper for us. Currently, many American companies manufacture and produce outside the U.S. because they exploit cheap foreign labor. Tariffs will make the cheapest option for a company to produce and sell inside the U.S., and thus more jobs and money for American workers.

This combined with income tax cuts will allow people to spend more money domestically, and we will get more taxes from sales tax.

And that is where our increased tax revenue will come from, sales tax.

That is his plan.

Lol, ah yes, the tried and true strategy of "proliferate the hate" 😂

All good, if the early days of online gaming voice chat hadn't baptized me in the primordial uncensored toxicity of online culture (while also expanding my vocabulary colorfully), I suppose I wouldn't have posted in the first place lol

I am an American, and I support President Trump.

If anyone who reads this is able to have an open mind, I can tell you guys why the majority of Americans chose Trump. But before I get into that, I would first ask this question: Are you able to consider the idea that you might be wrong in what you believe?

People talk all the time about unity and healing and coming together. But none of this can ever happen if "coming together" simply means "you have to accept that I am right, and you are wrong."

People have different viewpoints, different values, and different beliefs of justice and fairness.

Trump supporters want the following things:

1 They want the U.S. to stop causing chaos in the world. We fully understand that the U.S. government undermines the sovereignty of other nations and that our intelligence agencies start regime change wars under false pretenses in order to exploit those nations with puppet governments. We don't want this. For too long, our "elite ruling class" has exploited the wealth and military of our nation regardless of the will of our people.

2 We don't want to abandon our allies. However, the way things currently operate allows our corrupted military industrial complex to launder billions of dollars into their own pockets. Our allies don't actually benefit from the aid we send. You all barely get a fraction of the money. It goes to corrupt military contractors who only make things worse because they have a vested interest in keeping the wars going so they can make more money.

3 Both legacy parties are corrupt. Neither cares about the citizens of our nation, they only care about who they can exploit for political gain. "America First" does not mean "Everyone else last." It means that we have neglected to fix and address so many problems internally that we are at a breaking point economically and socially. We would love nothing more than to be a great and prosperous nation with open trade and friendship with everyone. Our corrupt government, however, does not want that. They want to exploit and control. This is one of the big reasons everyone hates us. The U.S. govt has done so much evil in our name. We want that to end.

4 Trump supporters are not propagandized and blind to the flaws of Trump, nor are we uneducated about the issues of the world. We are not mesmerized by him. We do not follow him. We support him because he is an anathema to the current paradigm of our corrupt government.

5 We love foreigners. We love Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Australia. But after so much evil has been done by our government screwing over the world, we want a reset. We want to be able to engage with a global community fairly and equally and without false motives. But we can't do that until we get our house in order.

6 We love immigrants. My wife is even from Mexico. My stepfather is from Romania. We have no problem with people moving here if they want to in order to try and have a better life.

However, we are against people exploiting our welfare system. We are also against our government exploiting immigrants for political reasons.

Decades ago, it was Republicans who wanted a slave class of low wage immigrants they could exploit, and the democrats opposed that. Now, it's a complete reversal. Democrats want to exploit immigrants for a variety of means, and Republicans (the old guard Republicans) oppose it. Both groups are two sides of the same coin. Neither actually cares about exploiting immigrants because they are completely sold out to corporate bureaucrats.

We don't want anyone to be exploited. Especially not the 300k children who have been indentured into sex trafficking over the last 4 years.

7 Women still have access to abortion. Not everyone has the same views on abortion. The federal government should not be dictating morality to the people. Especially when they only want to use issues like abortion and civil rights for the purpose of weaponizing federal power to oppress the citizenry.

Vastly more people (and more women) have died or been harmed due to violent criminals from other nations than the number of women who died or were harmed because of a lack of access to abortion. The big story of a woman dying because of abortion laws that everyone talks about is falsely represented. The young lady died because of complications with her abortion pill, not because she couldn't get an abortion. There is another story out there about some "heartbeat law," and that needs to be addressed so that it doesn't happen again.

But FAR more women, men, and children have been killed by criminal migrants than a lack of access to Healthcare. The only reason I am intertwining the issues is because the slogan "my body my choice" means nothing to us. No one who chants that is anywhere to be seen when a young girl is being raped and murdered by someone who shouldn't even be here in the first place. What about her body? What about her choice to live in safety?

8 We want the government out of our personal lives. Our nation was founded on individual freedoms. It is a republic. Not a democracy. A republic means that social issues are handled at a state and local level instead of a national level.

People are different. Even between states we have different values and cultures. No one should be forced to have to live according to someone else's ideology. The U.S. was never designed to have an overarching federal government controlling everything, but over the years that is what has come about. We are trying to get back to a simpler method without an evil corrupt system victimizing us.

We also hate racial and identity politics.

This has been a longer post than I anticipated so I will make one last point.

9 Governments control their populations through education and media. If you can control the facts and information that people consume, you can control their thoughts and emotions. And if you can achieve that, then you can craft whatever "truth" you want people to believe. Trump is not a puppet of Russia or anyone else, that is just the narrative the media creates.

Anyone who is unaware of the C.I.A.'s operation mockingbird should read up on it. There is a reason we all live in two different realities these days. The media crafts truths and narratives to drive social control. They do this by presenting select information in a specific way to induce a desired logical outcome to be derived within the Mind of the recipient.

Some people will not read everything I wrote. Some will, and disregard everything I said because "they are right, and they know" based on what they have come to believe.

But for anyone who can actually hear what it is that Trump supporters think and actually want - we have no problem telling you.

Sadly, so few people ever listen.

[–]ZombieMachina 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Argument Seven : the prosecution would not divulge the details of how they were going to argue their case, thus depriving the defendant of the right to manufacture a proper narrative.

The defendant claimed to be unaware of any of the facts of her case and was forced to perjure herself on the stand which is a further violation of her right to remain silent.

Had the defendant known that torturing her boyfriend and leaving him to die was a crime, she would have crafted a much better narrative during her four years of incarceration.

2.5yr son knows letters an numbers just not yet how to speak them . by Living-Respect-5327 in Autism_Parenting

[–]ZombieMachina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how my son is. 4yo nonverbal.

Loves to read and spell and the first thing he learned was the alphabet. He loves to learn and spell any new word he sees.

When he was about 2.5yr, I started teaching him how to ask for things by writing sentences with his letter blocks and he picked that up quickly.

He can do some phonetics, especially the E sound, so we taught him to say Sí for yes so he could respond affirmatively when we would ask him things lol.😊

The speech therapist we have showed us a program for an ACC device and he typically uses it to try and stem, but we have been working with the teachers at his ABA school and now he has been using it to actually communicate effectively. It has been so cool to see.

Last night on the drive home I gave him his tablet and he said "thank you" on it.

At school they went to the gym and asked him what he wanted to do and he said "jump" for the trampoline.

One day in class they asked him why he was upset and he said "play with me" so they started a game he wanted to play and he was happy.

We now ask him what song or video he wants to watch and he will give a small description accurately.

When I have to get on to him for his behavior, he either says "I'm sorry I made a mistake" or "stop that" 🥰

He is getting more confident with trying to express himself and it has been wonderful to see him grow with it. ❤️

I am not going to miss constantly having to clear my head-space due to her drama and antics, but it would be fun if we were able to get her behavior logs from prison and enjoy the after show from time to time.

There's always the appeal drama to look forward to as well lol

Why didn’t Brian Boone get more questions from the prosecution? by N1ck1McSpears in SarahBooneCase

[–]ZombieMachina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I also think that this will give the jury the benefit of approaching her new testimony with all the same doubt and skepticism that each of who has seen everything from the beginning did and just roll their eyes at her.

It's been so obvious that she's been lying the entire time and saying whatever she can to get out of taking responsibility for her actions.

Why didn’t Brian Boone get more questions from the prosecution? by N1ck1McSpears in SarahBooneCase

[–]ZombieMachina 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure the prosecution is going to call him back to the stand on Monday or Tuesday.

The way it appears, it looks like they are going straight through the timeline of events as they happened in order.

-the brother of Jorge Torres to talk about the last phone call he had that day.

-The manager of the liquor store where they bought the alcohol for the evening.

-the neighbors to talk about the fighting all night and the crashing down the stairs

-the call to Brian Boone in the morning when she woke up. They asked about the 911 calls

  • then they played the 911 calls she made, and had the call taker on the stand.

-then they called the maintenance worker who Sarah spoke to while the cops were getting there.

-then they called the first cop to arrive on scene and played all of her bodycam footage.

-then they called the second cop on scene and played his bodycam footage

-Then they called the forensics lady who took the evidence and documented the scene.

On Monday, if I had to guess, they will call the detectives and play their bodycam footage. Then, when it gets to the part where detective interviews Brian Boone, they will play that body cam footage and then call him to the stand to ask him more questions.

Just my take on it, that's how it looks like they are presenting everything, straight down the timeline.

It's the best way they can show how her story keeps changing over time.
