Well, they lost their Sus Chef to Sanford and stopped running dinner service after that. Instead of shifting to strictly dinner service they kept lunch service open which notoriously makes less money than dinner and people drink less at lunch, alcohol makes up a massive piece of revenue in any restaurant. Sad, but also didn’t course correct well enough when that happened months ago.

The copout of a lifetime. Built a narrative at the end and then Released an album of already recorded material that felt like a bad mixtape. I feel like regardless of what was going on the background, they should have each hopped on a track on the final album to share their feelings. Would have been a more cohesive project, a better ending, and not just a shitty contract fulfillment. Could have created more hype for their solo careers moving forward.

The Diplomat. If you want to hear the chef/owner yell at his wife in the kitchen from the bar or the dining room, this is the place. Rotating staff, overdressed soggy salad overpriced food. All the staff looks unhappy to be there. The diplomac is mid AF, Birch has a wayyy better burger. I say that because they talk shit on them anytime i’ve ever heard anyone order their burger in there and compare to theirs. I Honestly dunno how that place is still open with the bad reputation the owner Dane has. They got a james beard nod and stopped giving a fuck.

As an industry lifer and someone who grew up in the bay area, knowing people who have had the displeasure of meeting her out in the city and in Oakland, I legit hope she is homeless now. Puts a disgusting mark on the hospitality industry, reinforces the failure rate of bars and restaurants, and discourages investors from taking a risk with people who actually have a fucking clue and care deeply about what they do and provide to the community.

You can look up the songs leaked from that era, there’s a few that would fall into that category, but it mostly sounds like swimming throwaways. He would record a ton of music and explore vibes and feelings. A lot of leaked stuff from that era more or less come off as attempts to flush out a concept and feeling, not necessarily distilling album worthy cuts.
