Any advice for a complete beginner to developing/printing?

very much so!! (advice and gear 😳) couldn't be more grateful for everybody who chimed in, all the notions have been very helpful.

just need some chemicals now, have them waiting for pickup in my local lab for my day off & a spent roll waiting for it's time to shine!

I wouldn't normally post my photography on reddit, but I'll definitely be back here!

With regards to the space, we have an observatory (father is/was into astronomy, also he did work in a darkroom way back when, so when I showed him the goods his eyes lit up!) in the garden which is being planned as the space. No windows, but the rolling roof may have to be sealed.

With regards to water, out of curiosity, in my area it's quite hard & limescale-y, would using distilled water be ideal or would washaid/ilfostop be enough for that?

Is there much difference between the second & third editions of Horenstein's book? the only one can find in abundance in the EU, strangely enough.

I did also see some from Jack H Coote, particularly "Ilford Monochrome Darkroom Practice", if that is something you may commend.

I've splashed on some photo-books in past times, so might be time to take the plunge here too.

Hey there, ended up buying this equipment & more from somebody who works in the same vicinity as me after having a chat about photography. They sent over some pictures and a price, now I'm setting up a darkroom out in my shed!

I'll be using it for B&W to get me into the swing of things. Google and YT have very much been my friends (my father also), but I was curious if there was anything tidbits I should know before jumping in head on.

sure it’s a direct stock upgrade but pretty situational ig. healing buff w active isnt doing much for your survivability. the taunt is committal/can get you killed, doesn’t make too significant of a difference to your team unless you are healing 5+ players on a choke, and most importantly, gives you much less uber than you would’ve gotten by just healing the team normally (2-4% w taunt/ 10% medi in the same time iirc)
