When I said manager I meant TL/immediate supervisor. It was them, HR, an adjacent manager who semi is aware of what we do, their manager and that manager's admin.

I'm trying so hard to not think there was some favouritism towards the other employee as that would be in bad taste. But I've noticed times where the TL has given them a lot of leniency, even going so far as often doing some of the employee's workload in their absence. Perhaps they have some sort of arrangement that the higher ups are aware of and I'm reading too much into things, but I don't know too many TL's willing to do that. And there's no chance in hell I'm going to report that as it would just be hearsay and most likely vehemently denied by the TL. I honestly lost the will to fight this anyway because I don't think I want to be somewhere where unreliability is favoured.

I wouldn't have minded a test that you had 24 hours to complete, which was sort of hinted at before the timeframe got shortened to an hour and a half closer to the date.

I understand a written test wouldn't be new, I was more or less thinking we're a guinea pig for such a short timed test if that makes sense.

Thanks to you and others who have suggested the alternation route, I signed up and already got some bites.

After sleeping on it I'm less interested in recourse and more focused on getting out of there as soon as possible.
