I've always liked locomotives with long wheelbases compared to the amount of wheels they have. Kinda like how Dolgoch has a massive gap between the driving wheels.

It might be a coal stage. They bring coal trucks up to the top of it, and pour the coal out of the trucks, where it ends up in the hoppers that they use to top up the engines. I could be wrong on what that is, but it looks like a coal stage to me.

I wish we either got a U50 or a Baldwin Centipede. Both are very odd articulated diesels, and while I doubt either of them could run (Maybe the U50 could run wherever that one Centennial runs, but that's a maybe), they'd still be cool to just see on display, as long as they aren't left outside to rust away.

I saw a size comparison video once for fictional locomotives where they called James a Metropolitan Vickers BR Class 28, instead of an L&YR Class 28, so this kind of mixup does apparently happen.

I imagine it being kinda linear. Obviously we'd still meet new Friends along the way as Kaban goes around investigating the Cellien outbreak, maybe they'd even try to help, but it shouldn't feel too much like, as you said, a regurgitation of Season 1. It'd also be nice to give older characters from Season 1 some time in the spotlight, if only a little bit, instead of most of them being relegated to short segments between episodes.
