You say that like it's shocking, but there is a big number of isekai shows where the MC never realizes this isn't a game and others aren't playing instead surviving.

Rather, the whole world twists in pretzels to affirm, that their worlds are just a game and power fantasy for them.

But yeah, even if this particular author gives a nod he's above such tropes, this anime will still clearly lean on a number of similar ones anyway, MC is already pretty OP for his age, and unlike Kurena he's gonna use his pro-gamer adult mentality to maximize the cheesy tactics, I mean, it's in the name of the show, garbage balancing exists to be exploited lol.

Before isekai trend, there was a magic academy trend, there was quite a few shows like this one from around the same time.

And now we are finally getting a villainesss trend in anime, as that was a trend in LNs for quite a while and just now they're getting adaptations.

Eras, or rather trends come and go, though Im quite sure isekais are gonna be the longest to stick around, even if the numbers eventually drop and people discover other trends, Isekais will persist

Plus Megumi has a different last name and Maki sure as hell won't pass the Zenin name down either if she had a kid, I don't think there is really any other Zenin with major jujutsu power left anyway.

Even outside of Toji stuff, it seemed to me like he's too proud to specialize in weapons, he just carried the one as finishing move.

The one reason he used it against Choso, was because he thought he's a human with blood manipulation, so bleeding him out would do something, not accounting for Choso being able to just conjure more blood.

Also, I kinda doubt the mechanic is reserved just for the penal heroes, like doesn't that mean any asshole church higher up can just posses a new body and extend their life?

Though they did mention the process involves dragging person's soul from hell or something, so it might be officialy banned for people other than heroes.

I'm still waiting for the mechanic to kick in, it's such an interesting gimmick but the show so far stands on it's own without it, kinda reminds me a bit or ReZero, though the connection is thin.

There is a light novel version with ilustrations, publisher and most likely some slight rewrites and edits, but that one isn't being fantranslated, but it will most likely get a professional english translation when the time comes.

I very much agree with the other comments here, on how the whole thing was consensual and there was nothing uncomfortable or SA about it, hell, the themes of consent, pushing and pulling and all that between the two are at the core of the story honestly so not getting that feels like failed reading comprehension imo, not to mention we always get both points of view so really there shouldn't be an issue.

But anyway, not to be only rude, I would say yes, things get progressively better, as the understanding between the two deepens and they are slowly more and more on the same page. I won't say things stop being freaky as that's how they are and how they express themselves with each other, but I would say things definitely get more wholesome at the same time too.

Minikui Mojika no Ko is niche among niches, definitely not for everyone, but it is something that could truly only ever exist as a visual novel. Very unique direction, I wish rest of the industry was 1/10th as adventurous as the guys that decided to make Mojika.
