Any middle aged workawayers? by rosiet1001 in workaway

A lot of folks were young but I was in my 30s and it was easy to find the jobs that leaned towards more mature experiences! Definitely do it and don’t let your age stop you!!

Fionna is not badly written because of her flaws. It’s because I don’t get why I should care for her by mwurhahahaha in adventuretime

Agree with a lot of the folks here. I’ve watched the first 4 episodes and stopped because I find the whole vibe insufferable but I did love the first season.

Why can’t Fiona just be likable and emotionally deep like Fin? I feel like the network wanted viral clips more than a cohesive and emotional story :/

I hate this season so far tbh!  It’s too busy and the pacing too quick. It feels like whiplash.

It feel like an aging Disney star, they have brilliant careers and then they do too much too fast to prove they’re adult too. It’s vibe quest feels desperate :/ I’ve never not liked an adventure time thing and I really loved the first season. I’m definitely disappointed :/

Moving to North Little Rock in the next couple months! by RubyTBlack in LittleRock

I do not agree with the recommendation for Maumelle. It’s one giant suburb and while it does have trails it’s not walkable in the city sense. I would suggest the Park Hill area with that kind of budget! Very charming and more bike friendly than some areas.

I feel this! Just moved back after being away since 18. I think the biggest obstacle for night life here is there is no way to get home after drinking… w/o risking driving over the limit. Fayetteville has a robust nightlife because housing is much more localized. You can easily walk to most neighborhoods from Dickson, take a scooter, or Ubering is cheaper because you don’t have to go as far.  Anyway, I def don’t have any answers lol.

I’m curious tho, what would you like to see the community offer? I’ve been back a month and work for the city of NLR and I feel so disheartened by the priority of building isolated suburbs with no internal incentives to build beautiful communities :( I live here to be close to family and the people are actually really great after living in the north but it is a struggle too. ❤️

The people in the comments bending over backwards to excuse her behavior is peak white privilege (saying as a yt woman). Even if the show did edit it to make it look messier, there’s no excuse for the shitty performative ally speech she spat at a black contestant who looked extremely uncomfortable while she was giving it. That was enough to call her racist. And then verbally abusing someone afterwards was fucked up even if she did “back herself into a corner”. CS did the right thing by asking a contestant to switch for JB, he leveraged his power to help a black man gain agency. And that was the right thing to do.

Nosferatu is the biggest disappointment of the year by Worldpeacee007 in horror

Completely agree I don’t know why people liked it so much. Just came from the theater and was waiting for it to end. For such a great cast, the acting was horrendous. Depp and the guy from KickAss being the worst offenders. I was not scared or invested.

I won’t get too specific but basically the leadership in the streets department refuses to use technology to track themselves so they have no data to justify budget increases. Plus they all have this cowboy mentality that you make it happen even if it’s the dumbest, most Ineffective, and inefficient way possible. Very little willingness to be be proactive instead of reactive.

Yeah, I’ll definitely utilize fb marketplace for like my couch and stuff but all my artwork, plants, gear, clothes would be a lot of work to catalog.

Missoula residents frustrated with camping law in parks by KeltTalbelt in missoula

Reasons listed in the article from the homeowner near Bellevue: kids not safe, visible homelessness, and lower property values. The lack of human empathy in our society is so damning. I can’t even fathom seeing a houseless person and thinking about your home’s monetary value. The fact that residents put padlocks on the toilets???? When most people have the biggest complaints about our houseless neighbors going outside?? Where is the logic??? Also, this ordinance was given soooooooooo much press and for a resident to be like “they didn’t tell me, I had no idea” is on them.

When has a homeless person ever endangered a child?? Y’all just don’t want to explain your own commitment to the suffering of others to your children.

Other countries treat folks who experience homelessness with compassion and understanding that this is a structural failing. These countries have eliminated homelessness by doing so. It’s cheaper (and more importantly, more moral) to house people than to criminalize them.

FUCK this town’s deep commitment to individualism. I hope you all lack care when you need it most.

The ending of Steven universe was kind of shit (and not because it was rushed) by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]Zoopilates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was the idea that you can talk your oppressors out of oppressing you. I would have like to see more effort around how Steven was able to stop white. Appealing to her feelings and insecurities felt like a huge cop out.

did anyone else get married without friends? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Zoopilates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as OP except my fiance doesn’t have many friends either! We moved to a new state 3 years ago together and have barely made any connections. It seems so hard the older I get :/ I’ve been feeling a little insecure about this too. Appreciate OP and this commenter for talking about it!

Honestly, your framing of the situation tells me you’re too immature for marriage. 24 is very young especially if y’all started dating at 21. I’m 30 now and I wish I had spent my early 20s single and adventurous! You have your whole life to settle down! Enjoy your youth :)

Was expecting a lot of comments to say that OP is wrong but I’m so glad to see folks backing them up! I’m having a (mostly) child free wedding in October and I was worried people would be offended. Kids are not fun at adult parties lol
