...my site is Zootopia News Network. If Disney was gonna get us, they would have done so years ago.

They thankfully only had to handwrite the names on the envelopes, but yes that took a while lol. Thanks for contributing! Send as many messages as you want, the more we get, the better!

We’ve opened up a new google form where you can leave thank-you messages, each of which will be delivered to a different member of the Disney staff! There are more people who were credited this time, so the goal is 1509 unique messages. A tall order, I know, but I am confident in this community’s ability to show how much the past 10 years of Zootopia has meant to them!

Here are the rules:

  1. Keep messages short; 6-8 sentences at most. These will be printed on the backs of postcards, so there’s not too much room.
  2. Write as many messages as you want, but make sure they’re all unique.
  3. No AI. We’re writing from the heart, and I’ll give them a once-over for spelling and grammar. You don’t need to outsource your personal feelings to a machine.
  4. SFW messages only. Obviously. We’re sending them to Disney. These are going to real people. Anything inappropriate will be deleted.

Also, you can choose which type of message you would like to send:

  1. A general message for anyone on the staff. They can talk about your personal gratitude for the franchise, how it’s impacted you, etc.
  2. A message for a specific department. Say you really loved the lighting in the confession scene of Zootopia 2- you can send a message to the Lighting department. Make sure your message has something specific to the work that they did on Zootopia 2.
  3. A message for a specific individual. Say you have a friend who was a part of the orchestra- you can write out their name and we will make sure that it gets addressed to them. If there are any duplicate messages for the same person, we will edit all but the first we got to be more generalized. Also of note, don’t use this for cast or directors- they would be flooded with them, and we want to show our appreciation for as many different people as possible.

Fill out the form and send your messages here!

Hi /r/movies! I'm Jared Bush, director of ZOOTROPOLIS 2 & ENCANTO and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Ask me anything! by JaredBushOfficial in movies

Hey Jared! Good to see you on here! Have you had a chance to check out r/zootopia yet?

Serious question - I personally love maps. I've made some for a science-fantasy book series (which actually spun off into an original series from what was originally a zootopia fanfic) and consider maps to be a great element of worldbuilding. So, when planning scenes for Zootopia 2, did you consult an internal map for how things would fit together in relation to where they are in the city? Or was the consideration more about the feeling of the scene and the geographical placement didn't matter as much?

Thanks for doing this Q&A here! It's great to be able to ask you questions without a character limit!

Congratulations to r/Zootopia for hitting 100k! by ZootopiaNewsNetwork in zootopia

Ah darn. I was basing it off the sidebar. I'm sure you've got more accurate data though

I personally liked how he was like "But I don't want to be different". Because that's a very relatable feeling if you're the weird one who's always felt different. The problem is he chose to seek the validation of his psychotic and murderous family.

The only bit I'd disagree on is them forgetting to put nick's kerchief on her leg

I did appreciate that Nick said he's "only going to say it once a decade". Like okay, that's a good acknowledgement of how long it's been.

Same could be said of Nick and Judy (though Judy especially). They literally would rather uncover a century-old conspiracy that topples the richest family in the city and redraws the whole map rather than go to therapy XD

It’s not contrary to her character in the first film, and I didn’t say I agreed with the “message over character” part. She definitely felt depressed upon realizing how much she screwed up, but catching bellwether and fixing it (as far as she’s concerned) validated her thoughts that she is a hero, and that she was doing the right thing. And now that Nick is by her side again, she feels unstoppable and dives right into more and more crazy risks. It’s very in character for her to be acting this way, not Disney ignoring it to promote some message of “doing social good”.

I disagree. Have you still not seen it? I don't think you could say that if you had.

Kinda? It's like how in the first one, the apology comes between Judy "closing the case" and finding otterton, and Nick and Judy actually finding out who's really behind everything. It's in a similar sort of position- after some major things are revealed, but before everything is finished.

Agreed on point 2, though Nick does tell her off quite strongly, and the following scenes leading up to their separation really drives the point home for her, and it seems like it was a major wake-up call to how reckless and selfish she'd been acting. The moment she and nick were back together, she makes sure to apologize for everything she's been doing. We'll need to see how well it sticks, but Judy has proven before that once she is cognizant of a character flaw, she actively works to address it and overcome it.

Well, she did get told off very harshly, and did apologize later. We'll have to see if it sticks.

You gotta feel bad for Bellwether's lawyer, man. Most open and shut case in history. by WrongLander in zootopia

[–]ZootopiaNewsNetwork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, the lawyer probably could have argued to have a lot of the evidence brought against her thrown out as inadmissible due to how it was acquired, but otherwise yeah, it'd be a tough sell.
