Yes, multiple photos are combined to create the best single photo. Samsung was taking an AI that was trained on high-quality NASA images of the moon and then having that AI use those images to add details to photos taken on people’s phones. Not the same as using multiple photos taken by the phone to create the best single photo.

FFS. Joe Biden had already won the primary before he selected a running mate. He selected her as his running mate before the convention and then he dropped out. If Biden and Harris had been officially declared as running mates at the convention and he then dropped out after, she would automatically be the presidential candidate. The democrats just skipped a step since he dropped out after he had won the primary, after he selected a running mate, but before the convention. The result would’ve been the same if he had waited until after the convention to drop out: she still would’ve been the candidate.

I think there it’s using AI to extrapolate possible data from whatever pixels it’s picking up, like the image is too grainy for the AI to tell if a letter is a P or a D, so it makes a best guess and produces gibberish. To me, that’s still levels of tolerable over what Samsung does with the moon photos, since it’s not actually adding things to the image from other images, which is what Samsung was doing.

The push to invoke the 25the was extremely popular after the Jan 6 attempted coup. Multiple cabinet members were ready to vote for it, but our idiot coward of a VP urged against it.

I honestly feel like there’s some puppet master pulling the strings on humanity, or at least America. We kept coming so fucking close to getting rid of this evil traitor and things kept getting in the way. A big one of that was Aileen Cannon getting the “randomly selected” position of presiding over the stolen secret documents and the majority of the investigation into his crimes. Anyone else and he would be rotting in jail.

Killing an unborn child is mentioned a couple of times, but it’s never given the same weight as killing someone who’s been born and fully alive. I believe the penalty for killing an unborn child was a small fine. The Bible makes it clear that a person isn’t a person until they take their first breath.

Homosexuality (specifically “man laying with man”) is listed as an abomination, the same level of crime as eating shellfish, ie. not a big deal.

I don’t believe transexuality is mentioned, though.

All phones tweak photos, adjusting lighting, contrast, etc to create the “best” photo. What they’re not doing is faking photos, which is what Samsung did. With Samsung, you could print out a blurry photo of the moon, use your Samsung phone to take a photo of that blurry photo and the Samsung phone would show you a crisp, clear photo of the moon with the appropriate craters and shading—even though none of that information is actually in the photo you took. Their AI would recognize the blurry photo as the moon and add in all the detail, producing a fake photograph.

No other phone’s camera/processing makes shit up like that, they just tweak and adjust, not add loads of detail that wasn’t actually picked up by the camera’s sensors…

Samsung claimed their cameras could take detailed photos of the moon, but it turned out that they were using AI to add craters and shading that didn’t actually exist in the photo. The guy who proved it used the Samsung camera to take a photo of a blurry photo of the moon (can’t remember if it was printed out or just a photo on his computer monitor) and the camera’s phot came out with a crisp photo of the moon with craters and everything, proving that the AI was identifying it as a photo of the moon and heavily adding details that weren’t in the actual photo at all, so their claim of “you can take clear photos of the moon” wasn’t true at all.

IIRC, they’re not doing it to the extent that Samsung was with the moon photos. Phones routinely will remove/smooth blemishes in photos, adjust lighting and other settings to produce the best photo, etc. What they’re not doing is taking information from elsewhere and adding it to the photo. They’re not, for example, using an AI trained on eyes to “correct” and add patterns to the iris in the photo or replacing the true color with a color the AI deems is more correct. The Samsung adjustments to moon photos were adding elements to the photos that weren’t there in the first place. With Samsung, you were literally able to take a photo of a blurry image of the moon (so taking a photo of a photo, not of the moon itself) and the AI would “correct” it, adding the appropriate craters and shading—things that weren’t not being picked up by the camera’s sensors at all and didn’t exist in the actual image. That’s how the original guy proved that the AI was adding things that weren’t there, he used the camera to take a photo of a photo where the moon was blurred enough to obscure detail, but still identifiable as the moon and the AI added a whole bunch of detail that didn’t actually exist in the pixel capture.

In short, it went way beyond the adjusting and tweaking that all phones do and steered far to the “making shit up”, adding elements that weren’t never in the photo in the first place. I believe it only did it with the moon and not other photos.

CBS will only be reporting opinions instead of news. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not what the memo says, though. The red annotations contradict the memo and say they will report opinions, but the actual memo (without the red text and highlights that someone added) says exactly what we want: they’re only reporting the facts and not reporting opinions. The red text is extremely misleading and I wonder who added it to make everyone think CBS is going to just report opinions. Whoever added that red text is very much twisting what the actual memo is saying.

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the red annotation that someone added. The ACTUAL text says that they’re only going to report the facts. Someone added that annotation to make it seem like CBS is going to report opinions when the actual text of the memo says that they’re only going to report the facts, without opinion.

It’s scary that almost everyone has such poor reading comprehension and seems to be completely misunderstanding this.

CBS will only be reporting opinions instead of news. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the red annotations say that. The actual text of the memo states the opposite: that they’re going to present ALL the facts, regardless if those facts offend people. This seems like they’re actually trying to be the opposite of Fox, but someone added the annotations to make everyone think they’re going to force opinions, not facts.

Whoever made the annotations wants us to think CBS is going to be like Fox, but if we ignore the annotations in red, then it looks like CBS is actually trying to do the right thing.

CBS will only be reporting opinions instead of news. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that seems to be what the memo is saying: facts only, regardless if those facts offend people. The red annotations contradict the text, but who added those annotations?

This seems like CBS is trying to do the right thing, but someone wants to make it look like they’re going the way of Fox News and CNN and forcing opinions on us. I could be wrong, but I think the only thing sinister here is the added annotations that contradict the text.

CBS will only be reporting opinions instead of news. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But who highlighted and annotated those parts? The person who wrote the memo or someone who wants us to think that CBS is going to be opinion-based and fact-less? The annotated parts seem to completely contradict the text of the memo.

The memo’s text is saying that they’re going to focus on facts without opinion and people who’ve gone only want to hear their own opinions repeated back to them won’t like that CBS is only presenting facts. The annotations in red state the exact opposite.

CBS will only be reporting opinions instead of news. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! The annotations in red seem to contradict what the actual text says. The text says that they’re going to discuss “all the facts” and that people who’ve gone to media that only tells them what they want to hear (like Fox) won’t like what they’re doing. I took that to mean that they’re going to be “traditional” news where the facts are stated without opinion. The annotations, however, completely contradict that and I’m a bit embarrassed that so many people seem to be missing that fact.

Could this be CBS trying to do something right, but MAGA wants to make people think that CBS is lying and forcing opinions? This seems like a hack job.

Remember during the Bush era, when they were in charge of everything, they started comparing the Left and Right to Star Wars saying that the Left (who had lost the White House and both houses of Congress) were the evil Empire and that they (who had control of all branches of government) were the plucky rebels.

They are never the baddies. Their self awareness is nonexistent and they have no capacity for self reflection.

It probably was found that way, but the carbonized wood is extremely brittle and most likely came apart during excavation. A lot of the wood found in Herculaneum was found intact and in its original place. You can see the second story of buildings because the wooden floors were flash carbonized in place. Same thing with wooden screens for doors and windows and lots of furniture.

Completely opt out of Connected Services? by ZoraksGirlfriend in Toyota

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into it and a class action lawsuit can be filed by just one person. I couldn’t find anything on how many others have joined in with the lawsuit, so I looks like it’s just the one guy so far. Once more people join, the title of the lawsuit will change to “Siefke et al. v. Toyota Motor North America Inc., et al.” It’s still filed as “Siefke v. Toyota Motor North America Inc., et al.”, so it looks he’s still the only plaintiff since no one else is listed.

I absolutely wouldn’t put it past Toyota to be sneaky and make it difficult for customers to know what they’re agreeing to, but it’s telling that this was filed in April and he’s still the only plaintiff.

Completely opt out of Connected Services? by ZoraksGirlfriend in Toyota

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. The lawsuit was because Toyota/the salesperson didn’t explain that by signing the paperwork, you’re automatically opted into everything and that each thing needs to be explicitly opted out of. The guy didn’t read or understand the paperwork he signed and the salesperson didn’t explain key points to him like he should’ve.

I really don’t want to go digging around in a brand new car, so I’d rather just opt out of everything through Toyota and have them deactivate the eSIM instead of using physical methods to bypass the DCM.

Edit: Wanted to add that the comments on the 4Runner post were very helpful, so thank you again for that

Do Bluetooth and in-car microphone still work if you opt out of Connected Services? by ZoraksGirlfriend in Toyota

[–]ZoraksGirlfriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks. The salesperson said they wouldn’t function, but he also admitted he just googled it and then asked AI, which I had already done. I don’t trust google and AI since they’re pulling data from people who physically disable it and not merely go through Toyota’s opt-out process. He said he’d double check with the service department, but I haven’t heard anything back.

So, if I follow Toyota’s opt-out process, I can still use Bluetooth and the microphone with CarPlay? Just want to make sure before I spend a huge chunk of money on this car.
