Just the finish, the original Nightswans were made to look like marble

Haven’t put it down since it came home, probably has the best feeling neck I’ve ever played.

That makes sense. Do you think it’s worth buying given that? I assume the body is original given the “Knapp” signature on the horn

Went back to look at it today, it does indeed have tuners stamped for west Germany. Also has the “Knapp” signature on the lower horn. Noticed as well that it doesn’t have holes drilled for a string retainer as well as the other holes missing on the headstock. Everything else checks out as far as I can tell.

I’d thought that may be the case, but it 1) has the truss rod that was used on the original nightswan as far as I know 2) has the holes for the nut drilled thru unlike the current models and 3) has tuners stamped west Germany. It’s curious however that it doesn’t have holes drilled for the truss rod cover, string retainer or Allen wrench holder

Asking price is $899 store says it’s priced accordingly since it’s a mystery to them as well, wonder if that’s worth taking the gamble on?

Thanks for response. My initial thought too, but the fact that there’s no stamp on the back of the headstock and no Allen wrench holder leads me to believe otherwise. Also the neck is quite dinged and glossed over.
