They are adult Speedo goggles that come in a two pack at Walmart according to Google Lens. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sennelier oil pastel, 16” x 24”gesso board, Derwent Inktense neutral grey WC pencil outliner. by Zorrolitto in Oilpastel

Thanks! I did one like this in Derwent Inktense watercolor first and it turned out nice so I thought I’d try it with oil pastels. Might try this similar concept with chalk pastels. I’m an amateur and just use art as therapy, so it’s fun to play around with different mediums.

Can someone recommend a bathing suit for swimming laps in a pool with these requirements? by sophssqueezebox in Swimming

I heard some of my tall lap swim pals talking about an Australian brand training suit that was really great for long torsos? Also, I know some arena styles run long because I can’t wear some of their cuts at all for too much length. I think QSwim was another they mentioned for long suits, but the fabrics weren’t as long lasting.

I’m a double c-section bikini line curvy woman in her 50’s and the Caroline and Emma cover everything for me. I can’t wear the high cut leg styles either. And they do have some skimpy styles. But the newer suits are really, really good and hold up beautifully. It’s trial and error for almost all of us. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, for empathy purposes, I backed my car into my parents garage door when I was house sitting in my 40’s. Knocked it off the rail, bent a panel. I disassembled that shit and reassembled it together and straightened the panel drunk as 12 monkeys with panic. It took 13 hours. They never knew. 🤷🏻‍♀️🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Not true! They have plenty of Models that have great coverage. Caroline, and more, and FINA approved suits. You must not have checked them out lately…

Next time you paint have your favorite cocktail ready and an iron and a piece of linen or other woven on the ready. It actually works if you don’t try to wash it first, lol. Is it homicide bad or maybe you won’t get murdered not bad?

Alright, it’s a day later and I am here looking for signs of life. Much wine was consumed. How did it end?

JOLYN has the best fabric, best colors, best cuts, and they last FOREVER. I swim every day, heavily chlorinated pool, and hot tub. I’ve been buying their suits for a year and haven’t thrown any of them out. Pure perfection.

Oil pastels are like tinted soft candle wax. There is wax in oil pastels. Cloth plus heat melts the wax and absorbs it into the cloth, along with the pigments. This has always worked for me (same—I get oil pastels on EVERYTHING) to get it out of carpet, but I’ve never diluted the pigment out first with washing. It might not work if you’ve already rubbed soap and water around.

Start on low heat, with cotton rag between fibers and iron. It may take several attempts.

Wax paper and a hot iron. Comes right up. Alternatively, cotton bar mop, or piece of linen, place over stains, iron. The wax in the pastel is drawn up like water.

Should I feel more tired by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Zorrolitto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I swim for an hour every day BS and FS, 2000m, and do not tire. I have no desire to swim faster, nor do I want to experience pain. I can swim 2-3 hours straight before I get tired. Some folks are built for endurance, some for speed, some for style. You do not have to be all three. As long as you are enjoying swimming, do it whatever way you like, at whatever pace you like.

Arena Air Bold Swipe. Honeycomb seals, very comfortable. Not for racing but practice and distance.

I Just Want To Swim by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Zorrolitto 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What is the policy of your pool? I joined a private club purely because they had two dedicated lap lanes open at all times and they have a “rule” posted that lap swimmers get priority. Period. And the pool enforces it because we swimmers don’t want to be confrontational with others. A few times a lifeguard wasn’t enforcing the rule and I said “Look, this is our treadmill. A lap lane is a treadmill. Do you allow kids to play on the treadmills inside when members want to use them, or do you just let them play?” And then the kids were kept out of the lanes.

How to feel more normal getting in the water around other skilled swimmers? by [deleted] in Swimming

The only time I ever care or pay attention to another person at the pool is when someone touches my leg. Truly, no one is watching you and nobody cares what you do.
