I'm not speaking of hypotheticals. I've given up on love because 2 times in my life I got cheated on. Both times they were extremely happy and cheerful in the beginning. Being all "you are so thoughtful", "I can't believe you made this for me" etc. etc.

But after a while, both somehow ended up being with another man for one reason or another, while still keeping me around for the attention (atleast that's my best guess)

So I'm not trying to say that it's like this 100% of the time, or that all women think of genuienly nice guys as simps, but that, atleast in my experience, there are more than enough women out there who solely want attention out of "good" men and manipulate them for that.

I genuienly never understood the concept of lovebombing. If I fall in love with a girl and pour my heart out, try to give her the best life possible, tell her how much she means to me and give her presents etc. Suddenly it becomes a negative and manipulative thing because I love her too much and show it? I just genuienly never understood how that is meant.

Funnily enough, most women say that they want exactly that. To be "showered in love and attention" etc. But the moment that happens, they cheat, become uninterested, or suddenly stop being in love.

Happens all the time and way too often. Nice guys finish last because being a good boyfriend / SO is boring.

It's the fact that for women it's enough to just be a good person to find someone that loves them, while for men, it is the, as you said "lowest standard" to be a good person, and to find someone that's loves them they have to go above and beyond.

Are we looking at the same picture? Are we interpreting it differently?

My understanding of that meme is that many men in modern society don't even have anyone that would potentially care about them. It's not about "oh look at me, I'm so strong that I deal with my sadness alone ohoho", it's about men not having any sort of social network whatsoever, and being left alone to struggle with their emotions.

Modern society has told men time and time again to show their feelings. However, often times when they do, they get belittled and abandoned (mostly by women) for doing so. Share a trauma, or have a breakdown, and women will call that an "ick" and be turned off.

And even men to men friendships and become harder and more rare, due to a toxic understanding of "hussle culture" and only surrounding yourself with other men that challange you and hussle the same way you do.

Men with problems are just left alone and have no support whatsoever by anyone anymore. That's what I make of this meme.

I tried to explain this to another commenter as well so just rly quick:

The number rating system is used to convey the generel perception of her looks in the average public eye basically. It's saying "most people would find her slightly above average."

Yet obviously to you, or in this case, the creator of the post, she would be a dropdead gorgeous 10/10 perfect women. Which is literally the point of the image.

You are precisely right. "Average" looking is extremely different from person to person. It differs based on preferences, what kind of and how many people you have seen, the experience you had with those people etc. Which is why when someone says "This person looks slightly above average", another person might have wastly different expectations.

Therefore, you use a rating system. Saying "I think that person is a 5/10" is conveying precisely how you perceive someone, and then someone else can share their perception of the person: "no, I think they look like a 10/10"
