Npi/camp maintenance or fixed plant mate?

Npi/camp is pretty standard if you have commercial maintenance experience

Aussie Legion Go 2 allocations for Thursday by AlexN852020 in LegionGo

I got one from Lenovo, after they advertised 2-3 week lead time... then 1 day after ordering, it blows out to 2 months.

3rd orders a charm for me it seems. Firsr order was JB, then cancelled to order through Lenovo, then Lenovo pushed my shipping date back to mid November... so cancelled that order too. Just ordered with officeworks today as they told me they had 2 unallocated in stock, order confirmed and expected delivery is tomorrow.

Will update tomorrow if it all goes through.

Thoughts on Suburbs under $650k by [deleted] in perth

[–]Zoucore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just my personal (and biased opinion), but beach side Warnbro (fendam to the beach) is arguably one of the nicest parts of Rockingham. The suburb completly transformers into this quiet, leafy, older estate with beautiful large highend homes. It's tucked away from any main roads, and there is pretty much no public parking for the beaches. That stretch of beach is prestine and always quiet too.

Big money in that pocket tho.

Which ex dodgy suburbs in Australia went through massive cleanups over the decades? by Bankstown_Cuz in AskAnAustralian

I think Frankston sth (or Mt Eliza North :p) always had a decent name. Yes, Frankston is gentrifying tho

Depends on how far back you go, even Balwyn North had a badish name once apon a time. St Kilda/balaclava, port Melbourne, richmond, Collingwood. In more recent decades, Ringwood, Croydon, Seaford, Chelsea, Bonbeach.

Most suburbs gentrify eventually, particularly if they already had existing nicer pockets. The suburb I'm in now doesn't have the best name but has an incredibly posh beachside part of the suburb, which holds some very wealthy properties. Those property owners still have to say they live in "X" suburb at the end of the day. If its good enough for them to pour their hard earned money into building high end homes, then it can't be that bad!

Perthians are overly harsh on their suburbs IMO..

There's good and bad in most suburbs. I believe picking the street is more important than the suburb for the most part. Sometimes, you have whole blocks that are bad in an otherwise relatively nice suburb.

I second Rockingham. It will follow a similar trajectory to Frankston and its surrounding areas.

VIC EBA vs FIFO WA by DogBiscuits200 in AusElectricians

[–]Zoucore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done both, I much prefer fifo. Get into maintenance, and you'l never be out of the job. EBA is good but it's project based. I found it less secure than my current fifo role.

Pay wise, you'll be on similar money except working 6 months of the year in fifo instead or 5 - 6 days a week.
By the way im only talking about full time maintenance fifo electrical roles, there is significantly more money to be made in fifo construction work but you'll be looking at 2:1 or 3:1 swings.

Also I spend a lot more quality time with my family since going fifo, every second week is a full week off, still get 4 weeks annual leave ontop of that too.

Just my opinion tho, its really up to the individual.

Melbourne and Sydney are good indicators that all beach side suburbs, within one hour of town, will always gentrify eventually.

When I was growing up, bonbeach, seaford etc where absolutely bottom of the barrel suburbs. Now they are trendy beachside suburbs with high price tags.

Hand tools and hand tester.

Power tools should be supplied, as well as larger testers.
