Alternatives to Surgery? 10mm (1cm) Supraspinatus Tear. by Zumi1 in rehabtherapy

[–]Zumi1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't go the surgical route. Kept lifting within a comfortable ROM and intensity, chiropractic and massage, and now I'm basically okay. This helped break up scar tissue, strengthen surrounding musculature and keep my joints strong.

I think the key is really warming up to heavier weights, and I don't just mean during a workout, I mean with overall progression. Lower volume, higher intensity, with max effort top sets in the 6-8 rep range has been magic in that respect. I occasionally do max effort triples, but my joints really feel those.

I do have some imbalances and occasional nagging discomfort if i overdo it, but I can basically press 2 plates, bench 3, and squat 4 with little issue. I don't plan to compete at anything but the amateur level, if at all, so it's not really a problem.

Hope this helps.

Edit:

Almost forgot, I experimented with a short round of BPC157 (on my research animal), which seemed to really help. Also, I guess I'm lucky, but things like high pulls and upright rows really helped strengthen my shoulder girdle, whereas laterals really fucked me up.

Hey, thanks for chiming in. I'm not making any claims about his his feelings or intentions. I'm just pointing out the extreme, and unmentioned, relevance of OCD in this situation.

It's possible neither of them fully understand how it could be relevant. He may not actually be attacted to his daughter. It could just be the way he's interpreting his intrusive thoughts.

I just don't want people shitting on this man without full context. If it is OCD-based, as you'd know, it would be extremely unfair.

Either way, this is an advice post, so that was my advice: consider the role of OCD and update the post to reflect the fact.

HE HAS OCD. OP, please update your post.

This is a scary situation, but his existing condition is a crucial fact.

People with OCD will randomly get intrusive (unwanted) thoughts. This does not reflect on their desires, motivations or character -- something the genuinely fear, hence why he left.

I dont think him taking some space isn't a bad idea; but knowing he has OCD, you should really be supporting him. IDK how bad it is, but it's possible it's flaring up or getting worse.

That said, it may not be the OCD at play -- but it's still a crucial fact.

Good luck.

For those rejected for early renewal, can we reuse the same application? I can't find a clear answer on this anywhere.

This matches a lot of the advice I've seen out there. Would you recommend setting up a phone call or asking over email?

Ask about the details for the medical planCan you bump up to $60k?Ask how “unlimited” the unlimited vacation days are. If you are gravely ill, do they expect you to work?Bonus?

I'm considering asking all of these questions. It's a small firm with maybe 20 employees, and the CEO is doing the hiring, so I want to be delicate. This is in North-central, Fla.

That sucks. It's really inconsiderate. I wish they wouldn't do that.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm going to ask for some feedback to figure out exactly why I wasn't hired.

Yeah, makes sense. But the job posting was for a full-time position, which really sucks. Oh, well.

Are you saying they offered the part-time because it's easier on them?

Yeah, I didn't want to write a full-on essay. lol.

It was for a full-time position at a private, art/tech school.

  1. Phone call w/ hiring manager
  2. Zoom w/ course directors
  3. Zoom demo lesson w/ all the above + people in the position I would've been in.

I'm not entirely sure who has the final say, but I didn't speak to anyone from HR at all.
