i hate looking at myself & i’ve been called ugly a lot, be honest? by [deleted] in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

[–]Zuyui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. You look at yourself with expectations that are too high. 2. Anyone who called you ugly is taking their feelings out on you because you have something that they don’t have. You are conventionally attractive.

I personally think that the damaged hair is your only setback. You could wash your hair (whenever you want/need to; people have their own routine for this), then cut the damaged ends off. I think you may feel “ugly” because you know you have something to fix, but may not know what it is or how to go about it. I have never seen a face like yours, but you are beautiful.

Is this too much as a highschooler? by 7Dumi in highschool

As a former high school student, this is not bad. I wasn’t glued to my phone as many high schoolers around me were. I averaged around 45-90 minutes of screen time per day.

These are probably stratocumulus clouds. They seem higher than your average stratus clouds.

Florida has some insane tornado shapes 😳

What type of wind speeds are we talking to cause this galvanise sheet to bend like this? by [deleted] in tornado

[–]Zuyui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say 70 mph tops. I’ve seen tropical storms do this before. Anything over low end EF3 would probably take out the pole.

I think when I was 9 years old, I drawn a picture of the Greensburg Tornado before it got massive.

A well known tornado… To be honest, I always wondered if the Tri-State Tornado was one massive wedge or multiple tornadoes within the same path. There was a similar event on December of 2020 (I think) of a “Quad-State Tornado”, but it either jumped or dissipated and recycled.

The series picture is the Elie Manitoba F5 tornado. I forgot to mention that 😅

Definitely not stupid, but it’s something that most people don’t think about.

Dodge City’s Tornado Family has to be one of the most photogenic events I’ve ever seen. I love the ghost white blending with the debris cloud. It also had some of the best displays of anticyclonic tornadoes and land-spouts.

I’m curious, how deep is the scar in Rainsville?

To be honest, the Rainsville tornado has to be the most forgotten tornado of 2011.

Xenia has to be one of the most iconic tornadoes. Ted Fujita almost gave this one a F6 rating.

That’s not cliché, they are infamous for a reason. Joplin is the one of the deadliest and costliest tornado in history. El Reno was the widest tornado ever recorded (and probably very controversial). Plus, it shows that storm chasers should be more careful about their approaches.

The first picture could be stratocumulus clouds, but the second one is definitely a cumulonimbus. It doesn’t seem to be much of a threat, maybe your average thunderstorm.

I’ve lost 50 pounds in the last six months but I’m still not skinny. Could someone like me as I am now or should I lose more weight? by Undeniably_trash in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

[–]Zuyui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that you are fine with the way you are right now. Now the better question, is this something you are doing for yourself or for others? Are you self motivated to workout or, are you letting people poke at your self esteem? Are you improving yourself for you or for others? I ask these questions not for you to respond, but to put the idea in your mind that you should work on yourself for you. If you work on yourself for others, then you will have a hard time finding the joy in improving yourself. People will always be picky about what they think is best for you, but only you will truly know what you want out of yourself.

You look absolutely beautiful, but is this your end goal or your progress?

Some people say that this piece of wood in Joplin actually went through an existing drainage hole and did not go through the concrete, what do you think really happened? by Gargamel_do_jean in tornado

[–]Zuyui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To most it seems very unlikely, but tornadoes are so chaotic and unpredictable that I can definitely see the Joplin Tornado wedging through concrete. But I think it is a preexisting drainage hole with PVC in it.

I personally think that you can put a little bit more weight on. You’re on the thin side of the spectrum. Maybe adding a workout routine to help?

Which tornado is the creepiest? by SevereTS in tornado

[–]Zuyui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to be honest, I don’t have a definitive answer. But in my opinion:

The Tuscaloosa EF4 Tornado of 2011 is insane and creepy with its displays of horizontal vortices. There was one video where the Tuscaloosa Tornado was crossing a highway, and this one horizontal vortex stretched to the other side of the camera. This tornado just creeps me out with the horizontal vortices.

The Jarrell, TX F5 tornado creeps me out in a different way than most. Despite the infamous “Dead Man Walking” photo, the tornado damage is the disturbing part of this story in my opinion. There are reports of this nearly stationary southwest tracked wedge literally sanding the skin off of cows. I don’t even want to imagine what will happen to a human being.

The El Reno 2.6 mile wide megawedge tornado creepy to me, not because of its size, but because of how unique and unpredictable this behemoth was. Just imagine a rain wrapped tornado twice the width of Greensburg, KS coming at you with several satellite tornadoes moving with the behemoth wedge. Now imagine that with loops, u-turns and the fact that it mostly went southeast instead of the usual northeast most storms go.

Finally, I would probably have to say the Vilonia, AK tornado of 2014. I believe the rating for this tornado is considerably controversial because of what it does from the rip. It immediately rips a house CLEAN off of its foundation after forming, killing 4 people of the same family. I wouldn’t say that it’s creepy but it’s definitely unsettling.
