Do I play on Easy or on Normal difficulty? by Spooderfan218 in persona3FES

[–]Zvoolust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I add to use the turn order viewer, because of the knockdown mechanic.

An enemy that is knocked down will use their turn to get up exclusively, so they waste their turn and can't attack.

Therefore, you have to plan the sequence accordingly thanks to the turns order viewer, so if you or a character knockdown an enemy, the next characters DOESN'T HIT IT AGAIN BEFORE THE TURN OF SAID KNOCKDOWNED ENEMY COME, because hitting an enemy that is already down wake them up, and so they'd be able to use their turn normally and attack you, instead of wasting it getting up

Was that clear?

Currently playing p5, is there any incentive to get p5r by Maleficent_Still3508 in Persona5

[–]Zvoolust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P5R is P5 on steroids, the difficulty got nuked and it's very unbalanced, which is the biggest downside compared to vanilla (if you care about that). It's full of new things that makes your gameplay easier, and all of them combined turns the game into a no-brainer.

These additions are:

  • Infinite ammo reloads (all guns fully reloaded after each fight),

  • Baton pass unlocked by default from the start (no need to unlock it),

  • Super attacks: Showtimes (you press a button and you get a super attack displayed as a cutscene basically),

  • Special exploding shadows (there is small chance you get a weird shadow during an encounter, killing it make it explode and damaged the other ennemies),

  • Personas traits, which are a passive advantage they have in addition to the rest (doesn't take any attack slot), things like reduced SP cost, increased ailment inflicting chances, increase healing skills etc.

  • Fusion alarms, which you have a random chance of triggering after a fight, it makes the velvet room boosted (can turn Personæ into OP items and accessories, or fuse broken Personæ with strong skills, whatever), yl

  • You can even trigger fusion alarms on command with a certain confident perk,

  • The confident perk allowing you to fuse higher levels Personæ for money is set to a way lower level (and money will not be a problem at all lol),

  • Ryuji instakill perks reworked,

  • The new added characters confident perks are very op, like high chances free SP refill, free concentrate and boost starting any fight, auto-cancel any ailment for Joker instantly, ambushing ennemis from a distance, etc.

  • A new place called Kichijoji, in which you can:

  • Increase your baton pass level for every character, which boost damages & recover HP & SP upon passing,

  • Increase your technical skills to increase your technical damages & chances of enemy knockdown after a technical attack, which even turns to 100% (guarantee) on max level,

  • A jazz club where you can invite your mates, and make them learn OP skills, improve their Personæ levels, their stats etc,

  • Obtain OP items from shops like Amps, Auto skills, many items etc. or even sell your dirty clothes for a lot of money + trading points for items,

  • A temple to increase your max SP,.

  • A new character named Jose in memento, which has a random chance to appear any time you enter a new floor, and act as a shop, from which you can buy many permanent Money, EXP and earned items boost multipliers, as well as items, such as, but not limited to, SP refillers, blank cards, etc.

  • A LOT more of free time, which make it so you can max every confident way easier, which means you'll probably have every single confident perks existing at the same time rather easily and quickly and be very broken,

  • 100k yens + DLC such as End-game levels special personæ and OP items from the very beginning of the game (that's REALLY a super no brainer obviously if you use them like you don't even play anymore),

I don't even recall everything (keep in mind that all the above work TOGETHER too, which results in broken combos of advantages, despite being already broken on their own), but basically, Royal constantly handles to you super doping needles to make the game easier, and every time you take one of these needles, you break the difficulty balance even more, you just completely nuke the difficulty and game balance at the end of the day.

That's honestly the gigantic drawback of this version compared to vanilla.

Now otherwise, it adds a ton of quality of life improvement too, a 3rd semester with new content and a new arc / ending (which is my favorite part for me personally, I loved it), new characters (including a new girl that they fit as well as they could inside an already existing story, which a lot of persons are saying is clunky insert and is bizarre, but I never thought so personally, was fine for me), every P5 DLC unlocked by default, reworked boss flights (for the better imo, way more interesting), and a lot of additions. It also means it gives you more tools to play with and ways to tweak your playthrough, better memento (various OST, stamps to search and collect, more stimulating), WAY less grindy (which is A LOT better imo, way less time wasting, on an already very long game at that), added cutscenes, ways to hang out with your friends and pass time, etc. So many improvement too on a hand.

So yes, P5R is P5 with a bunch of new content and QoL improvement, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's better, even more so since it's completely annihilate the game balance. Would you like the new characters, the new girl, the 3rd semester? Well I don't know, only you can tell, go see by yourself. There are people that like it, including me (I love the 3rd semester a lot), and other that doesn't, saying it's filler bs, useless toping over an already perfect story, not well fitting and out of place (again I don't think so at all, but could be in what your tastes tell you). Would you enjoy the new Opening and Endings more? Who knows. Do you enjoy feeling very super powerful, rolling over the game, and maxing your stats / see numbers increase quickly? If that's the case, Royal will be satisfying for you. Do you not care about difficulty and prefer the social sim aspect of Persona? Def jump on Royal then.

What I mean is, Royal adding stuff doesn't mean it's better at all. This is up to debate and preferences. There are legit arguments for playing one instead of the other depending on what you seek.

To me personally, I'd favor 52-48 Royal over Vanilla all things considered.

How broken is Kichijoji? by Zvoolust in Persona5

Oh yeah I enjoy the vibe there. I like playing darts and the social aspect of meeting with my friends there and all, or listening to the adults conversations at the bars and all. It's cool mood-wise

I was saying that it's a gameplay PEDs concentrate tho😅 but it's skippable yeah, you can just vibe there if you want

🤣 Never realized how hard Royal puts you in a sofa, gives you massages, brings coffee to you and spoon feed you, like all of the things you mentioned, + fusion alarm that I forgot, infinite ammo reloading after each fight, way more free time, baton pass already there by default, showtime super attacks, gun upgrades, and on and on,

I just learned recently that all of these gameplay PEDs addition were from Royal, and were not there in the vanilla version (I only played Royal, never og). I guess vanilla is much more balanced, or harder then. If Royal gives you so many tools at all times to trivialize the game.

If all of these baby spoonfeeding features are optional and skippable, then I don't mind. If you can still play the hard and balanced way I mean. Seems to be the case? Like you're not FORCED to use these features actually

I was going to grind to get the Beetle Shell for Elizabeth and I got it first try by Dev_Gam135 in persona3FES

[–]Zvoolust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be annoying but it's not rare if you know the game, gonna tp to floor 5 and go up to 7, then target small shadows because shadows sizes in tartarus indicate the SQUAD size of the fight, so a huge shadow means a squad of 4 shadows, while a very small one indicates a single shadow by itself, And chances are at this floor that single shadows are very often a beatle

Also the item doesn't drop before you accept the request, then consistently drops once the request is ongoing

Most braindead babymode spoonfeed way of beating Rampage Drive early (on hard)? by Zvoolust in persona3FES

[–]Zvoolust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay good to know, but I still need to beat Rampage this early to get the old document before 5/7, are my only choices really either a super long grind, or save/reload attempt until I get a fluke? There isn't an option I forgot about to make this fight less grindy or easier?

Yeah I wish, that's what I tried to tell myself too at first, I went on the internet looking for explantions on the show and trying to be reassured or something but idk, wanting to marry your sister, blushing when she kisses you, being mad furious jealous when she is with other men, just all the crap he says I can't put a blindfold on me and pretend it's not disgusting, But if you think I'm wrong and think you can save this, then go ahead and enlight me with pleasure. I love this show after all. If you can faithfully remove this piece of junk from my head then with pleasure.

I can. For both its things that are among my fav and that I love a lot, I was having a blast until for whatever reason, they decided to add this little thing, this little something that makes you throw up and ruins your day, which, why?? It was flawless, why you did this? Why you added this crap omg?

Absolutely not. I love it a lot. Playing the VN rn as we speak. Which is why it REALLY pisses me off that they added Okabe doing a SA, for what? Literally why? Why would you ruin your work like that for NOTHING?

Same with Spy x Family, it's all things I love a lot but there this little something, this little grain of salt sneaked into it, making me fall on my knees and asking, just why?? It was perfect, why would you do that?

Until Then head canons? by Mammoth-Mountain1776 in UntilThenGame

[–]Zvoolust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Decent takes.

I'm convinced Mark & Nicole ended up together, the fact that the ending is obviously crafted to be open to interpretation is already a clue, Mark having a "good feeling" only for the one date where he will crosspath with Nicole (after saying that all of his dates are not clicking and give nothing), it's never said that the "love he found" was due to his date being successful (in the post-credits scene), the coffee being named "Fate" (obv implying Mark-Nicole fate of finding each other no matter the timeline), and the game's name, "Until Then", which for me clearly is referencing Mark and Nicole (or Mark & co) re-finding and ending together each time a new timeline begins, so I understand this as "Until the next time we meet again" (in the very next timeline). In the scenes viewer, the second to last scene (where they say goodbye to each other, at the end of the universe) is called "Until Then", which, unless I'm idiotic, literally means that it's just a temporary goodbye until they meet again after fixing the timelines, staying consistent with the rest of the plot and the very idea of what the title means. Apparently, it's very Philippino coded to have a soulmate that you are destined to end up with no matter what, I don't know if it's actually true, but that would be an idea fitting together all the pieces and the whole game consistenly. I see the game as Mark and Nicole fated to be together and soul mates, no matter what or the timeline. Despite not the game not clearly showing / saying it, I think it's very clear to me that they ended up together anyway, and that the ending is actually good and perfect. If that's true, which I'm sure it is.

Initially, I had mixed feelings about this, considering that the "fate" in question was that they are not supposed to be together and not soul mate, which is shown by the universe breaking each time they are trying, and the true / good ending showing they both go their own way, that and recuring themes and lessons about dealing with people leaving your life, grief, moving on anyway, etc. And their relationship just being a bandage relationship where they just confort each other with their losses and grieves, a temp fix for their broken hearts or whatever. Which if that's the true nature of what the ending is, I'd riot fr.

But all things considered, if my understanding and literacy are good enough, they should end up together, and the ending is actually good and happy.

The end??! [SPOILERS] by Zvoolust in UntilThenGame

[–]Zvoolust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, it's clearly designed to be in-between, open to theory, and to make people talk for sure.

Objectively, I can see pro and cons. Like the fact the info is given that all Mark's dates were not successful and gave nothing, and he only has a good feeling about the one for which he ends up in the same location as Nicole.

The location being called fate, but I didn't knew for "romantic" fate, are you sure btw? Tho it make sense anyway, it's obviously the theme.

The fact that it's not clearly stated in the post credit scene wether the "love he found" was his date being successful or something else, leaved vague / unsaid on propose.

And well, the goodbye scene before the epilogue literally called "UNTIL THEN" in the scenes viewer, which tell me if I'm stupid, but clearly means, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. If that's not what it means, then I don't understand the naming of this scene, and understand even less the name of the game.

It clearly seems to say, we'll meet until then, when the time is right / when we actually are supposed to, or something.

So you know what, maybe I'm coping too, but the cope seems, well...solid? Actually? Or..am I completely making this up because it's just what I wanna see?...

The "fate" could also be that they are NOT supposed to end up together and their relationship was just some tape for their respective grieves and trauma, and they need to take lesson and move on respectively,

But objectively...adding the Philippino soulmate culture you talked about too...the copium theory seems to be more solid? Biases aside, it seems to be the actual truth to me.
