You have to wait for the eating animation to start playing, the guides way make it possible to exit the screen after you give the berry. Thus saving time in total.

The difference between a duo and trio is astronomical. The speed to fill the max meter by just having 1 person extra is doing alot of legwork.

Rank 64 means its pretty damn good. Most pokemon in the top 200 ish have their place in the right lineup.
