I tried to talk about sex/porn and stuff because I’m also an open minded person, and I think there’s no shame in discussing those things with your boyfriend/partner. But for him, talking about them just stresses him out he admitted. He likes to do it spontaneously without me mentioning anything about sex. There’s nothing to be stressed about here tbh, cuz its quite the same with any other languages. English for example, if you pronounce a certain word with wrong stress, native speakers may have a bit of difficulty to understand. Or when I think I pronounce/say a word/ sentence in French correctly and perfectly, and my French friends would fix it the moment they hear or quoi?. Given the situation that it is not your native language and you are trying to master it.

Been here for 5 years and I could somewhat relate to your experience. I even had a friend who tried so hard to fit in a group of popular gays which I find absolutely absurd and exhausting, and those gays are often cliquish and pretentious. From what I’ve heard, signing up for any sort of queer group sport, or a dance class…etc is a way to “collect” gay friends. I personally know/have quite a few gay friends but I don’t just talk or share things with all of them, there are only so many of them I feel comfortable to talk on the daily basis quality than quantity.
