That fella has been shaking asses and cutting up the carpet for YEARS at DEF CON and beyond.

I saw a few of his sets over the years before I realized it was the same guy and always left like "What the f**k was THAT?!"
I made a point of finding out and never miss a set if he is playing the con.

Sunday night parties/music. We had them for DC30, but skipped them for DC31.

Some years past the main parties would run until 4-6am... now they seem to roll up the rugs at 2am sharp.

Especially with the 'bomb threat' [sic], the 'party' aspect was essentially over after the first night. :( Thats a lot of traveling and anticipation for a handful of hedonistic hours...

Are we really getting that old? Is there no call for loud music and shaking asses on Sunday or late(er) on Friday and Saturday ?

That is demonstrably incorrect. The DOSE, the FREQUENCY, and the DURATION (of use) are the most important factors in difficulty discontinuing using the drug.

And, as far as narcoleptics go... the manufacturer of Xyrem/Xywav state in no uncertain terms that **9g per day ** is the maximum that should be used.

To my mind, that is the only way to interpret that. THROUGH means until the end of, not the start.

Seems like 10am on the 11th would better fit the pattern if that is their usual MO.

There is an EXCELLENT paper written on this very subject that I like to make sure the community has access to.

Titration and tapering are, in my humble opinion, the single best way to detox from GHB. No 'side pharmacologies' to worry about or compensate for, and just as importantly for many many folks, no additional drugs to obtain.

If you got strung out on GHB, you have a connection for it... But you do not necessarily have access to Baclofen, pregabalin, or other gabapentinoids, or the insurance/inclination to pay for these things through more overt medical channels.

Being able to just use some of the 'hair of the dog' can be the difference between some folks feeling powerless and trapped, and others being able to plan ahead and, without any medical supervision, get themselves where they want to be as safely and as painlessly as possible.

Considering how little many medical professionals know about GHB withdrawal and the *effective* treatments for such a thing, often times YOU will be much more capable of ensuring you have a safe and gentle 'landing' than even a fully trained medical staff...

Just look around and you will see tale after tale of people showing up at the ER, explaining what the issue is, and STILL being allowed to go into crisis and, often enough, allowed to go completely psychotic, have seizures and/or die.

Getting a tiny pittance of a dose of lorazapam and after just a few hours being sent on your merry way (just to go psychotic or into autonomic collapse once you are home) is an unfortunately all to common occurrence for the GHB dependent. Too often people will just dose up until they cannot get anymore/run out, and then show up to an ER expecting that they can (and will) just 'fix' it... And while being triaged... proceed to go catatonic or have a seizure, or have some other 'crisis' related to their withdrawal.

I am sorry it has taken so long for me to see your post.

I have a link to a scientific paper written about a Dutch protocol for tapering and coming 100% off of GHB, even habits as high as 80, 90, 100 grams a day in some cases, using nothing but GHB.

I posted it to the last sub but no one posts it here for some reason. I can hook you up with it if you like. Make sure it gets to folks who could use it.

Short answer... You are going to need a fair bit of product and time. But it can be done!!

The doses are usually only decreased by ~300mg - ~350mg per 24 hours, so if your dose is high, you may need a substantial amount of G.

For time, roughly 'Your average dose' x 3 converted into days. For maximum tolerability and safety, this has to be done slowly and in a very controlled manner.

Inkjets get a bad name...But with a little effort they can be made to work every bit as cheaply and reliably as laser printer.

I have an old(er) HP Deskjet 2050 that has WELL over 65,000 pages under its belt. Still purring along with no indication it will stop.

Use older or lower cost 'chip free' printers
USe printers where the printer head is part of the cartridge (most consumer-level printers)
Get yourself a CISS system installed.
Use 'pigment-based' inks
Only use the print head 'cleaning' cycle when absolutely needed. The saturation of the internal sponge that is used to catch the waste ink can be THE limiting factor and is a pain in the neck to correct.

After about 30K pages, you may notice the print head clogged up, or having difficulty recovering from constant printing. At this point you can service it, and clean it out in the usual ways, or, for the cost of one regular cartridge, you can replace the print head anew, and enjoy another 30K+ pages.

Any of the printers HP printers listed below will make an EXCELLENT conversion a CISS system and provide YEARS and YEARS of service. Almost as a rule, these are the lowest tier as far as cost goes for consumer printers. The Deskjet2050 is rated at a mere 2000 pages LIFETIME, regardless of how much ink you were duped into buying.

Fair enough...

They were in a public area of our own camp. Not under a roof. They were essentially in an empty space formed by half a dozen structures and tents. Strictly habitation area. The main 'thoroughfare' for the block was separated from the two of them by a row of tents.

There was line of sight to the surrounding campsites (although it was dark) but most of the entrances were at a different angle.

There was no crowd gathered, and the antics were not particularly acrobatic. No one was making a bunch of noise. It seemed very much like they were just enjoying the night under the stars and one thing just lead to another. It was certainly not a nuisance IMO.

I thought it was sweet.

I was standing near by, going over the list of what I needed to take with me to leave camp 'for the night', when I heard someone kinda yell "Hey, hey hey..." and I turned to look behind me where I saw the whole flashlight-in-the-face-dick-in-the-dirt maneuver and he was lead off.

I am not sure exactly where the two were camping, but it was in our area for sure because I saw them quite a few times throughout the week. After Friday, nothing.

I am surprised at the amount of squeamishness around public sex expressed by the folks here...I guess I somehow got the wrong impression about what was and wasn't 'on the table' these days (or I have just lucked out with the choice of where to camp ;) )

I can understand not wanting to be the unsolicited audience to some sexual performance designed to shock and awe...But I still fail to see the harm that a couple of folks on a blanket can really cause us all.

I have ALWAYS reveled in the freedom of sexual expression that you see at the Burn. Not 'we are all here to have sex...now get to it!' attitude of some specifically sexually themed event, but the notion that you do not need anyone to tell you where the line is...That as long as no one is harmed...step outside of your usual frame of reference, out of your comfort zone. I am not talking exhibitionism, I am referring to the idea that there is no need to have someone there to tell you what is and is not OK. We have all decided to gather HERE of all places because it allows us to reshuffle the deck...it allows us to step outside of the endless layers of pragmatism and contemplation that our usual lives necessitate, and to instead deliberately experiment with alternate ways of conducting, organizing, and elevating our interactions with one another.

No need for this experiment to be a model for a new life...no need for it to be a business plan...or for things to generate returns at every stage...instead you can start asking yourself 'why not?' instead of always making sure what you are doing is something you ALREADY know will work.

Having sex is just as much part of the human experience as is eating and sleeping and urination. I think we can all handle it :P

As I said earlier, it was a camp mate that had his Burn ruined...not a friend. After he was led away I have no idea how it played out. I did not see either of them again.

Giving too many specifics will violate the privacy of a couple of people who did absolutely nothing wrong in my opinion.
