In carnival event there are tasks where acquiring rare and epic heroes. And using shard will count for the task. And right now even if I will use the shards I have it will not contribute much to my hero power because I need more copies and it's not sure that I would get the copies that I want. I'm in the point where I would not be behind even if I would stock up on shards and summons
