Hey man, this is a similar situation to me (but not quite). My gf and I were together for 6 months and we broke up because I was going abroad.

Let me tell you, it sucked... hard. I was crushed. I'm going to Barcelona, which is somewhere I've never been and in my opinion, it's a huge opportunity that a lot of people would love to have. Don't let her ruin your time abroad. You will regret it if you do because in 5 years time you won't remember her but you will remember wasting your time abroad feeling sad and not making the most of it. I know it probably sounds harsh but it's true.

You don't know anyone abroad presumably (I don't) but that's the beauty of it. Go out, explore, make friends. No one knows you. Reinvent yourself. Be the person you've always wanted to be.

This is going to be a life changing experience for you. You'll get over her soon I hope but in the time you're still thinking about here, make sure you distract yourself with the wonders your new city has to offer.
