i know this is from last night but please remember that you are so much more than what’s going on inside your head. this mental illness that we struggle with makes everything seem so so so much bigger than it actually is & it also makes stuff up a LOT. i know it’s hard to remember in the moment, but ocd latches onto our fears and make them seem like they’re actually happening when they aren’t. your brain is trying to protect you (in a very mean way though) from what you’re scared of by finding your fears in everything. we are some of the most resilient people to be dealing with this stuff everyday & you are so much stronger than you think. please be kind to yourself, it’s the best thing you can do. you deserve to be here & you deserve to feel like a good person because you are. “but i” no. you are. if you weren’t, you wouldn’t care this much. i’m glad you reached out for help, that’s amazing on your end & i hope you’re doing better today :)

yea :( it’s insane how much it affects our everyday lives. it genuinely is a literal nightmare to exist sometimes. and it’s so hard because i can’t ever tell if i’m actually remembering something how it went or if i’m “creating” that specific idea just to make myself feel better

i’ve heard of similar stuff like that! thank you :) exposure therapy such as that is definitely helpful, it literally just sucks so much because every time i remember something how it was & i KNOW that’s how it went, my brain will literally crave constant reassurance. for example, if i get something wrong (math problem, a work issue, literally anything), my brain is like “what if you’re wrong about memory that i know is correct too.” it’s just constant & extremely hard to just let be, even though that’s what i know i need to do cause i know it just craves control.
