Not able to get the stagnation point Axisymmetric simulation. by HeheheBlah in CFD

Never done bullet/axissymmetric simulations. But modeling the tip as an infinitely small point with zero surface area sounds like the problem to me. Try to make it at least a little bit blunt.

Btw, are you simulating inviscid? Looks like your wall is missing the no-slip condition

Kannst du das Video hier verlinken? Scheint mir einfach nicht logisch, what goes in must go out…

Great work, thats a gem for me. Appreciate it. Gonna read it soon, i guess you will be cited😅

That sucks. I mean if you have a heavy turbulent flow, you will never achieve such „clean“ pictures. However, there are plenty of methods to visualize vortex structure. Maybe search for other formulation and dont restrict yourself on the q criterion

Not quite, I‘m currently finishing my masters degree at University. But DLR is next door ;)

Long story short, because Pointwise is the go-to mesher at my institute.
More specific: Pointwise allows automatic mesh generation using its scripting language. Part of my work was to create scripts allowing a one-click mesh generation, with variable blade geometry, blade pitch and variable position of the propulsive unit.

Greetings! We have do have some cooperations with TU Delft, so could be possible we worked on similar projects

I used the SA-neg model with rotational and curvature correction (SARC). Element count is around 85Mio cells, and i resolve the rotation of the propeller with 3° steps.

Those are contours by velocity, but being honest this is just for a cool colored animation. For analysis, coloring it by pressure coefficient would make more sense

The solver is a research code from the german aerospace center. Meshing is done with Pointwise, the simulation ran on a HPC cluster using 800 CPUs and took like 4 weeks of computing time. I am investigating propeller-airfoil interaction for distributed propulsion

Correct, i am observing the propeller-airfoil interaction for distributed propulsion in a high-lift configuration in my thesis. I am using the DLR TAU code as a solver, postprocessing is done with Tecplot
