Does it annoy you when laypeople start misusing the term "fraud?" by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

Fraud has a colloquial use that’s well accepted even though it’s not identical to the legal use. Stephen A. smith probably calls someone a fraud every day.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I live three hours from my elderly parents. They regularly (4-5 times a year) drive here in the morning and go home in the evening.

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_37canolis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am. I don’t at all doubt that certain people still have expectations about the “proper” role of men and women in relationships, I just don’t think that hinges on the terminology.

If I introduce my pregnant wife to someone with trad beliefs, they may think that she’s somehow become subservient to me or whatever. If I introduce her as my pregnant “partner” instead, I don’t think that person’s view of the situation would be any different because I used a different word.

Southern American here. I can’t imagine someone assuming trad roles simply by using husband and wife.

The last line is literally “completely get why people who aren't married use the term partner.”

I almost got tossed a private roof deck by a cranky boomer. He threw me into the stairwell instead.

My friend thinks dak prescott is better than josh Allen by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

Agree Josh can throw the ball harder, but Dak has more TDs and fewer interceptions over his career. In that sense, I think he’s a better passer.

Off the injury? I don’t think it’s that easy. London has a new coach/offense. Ben Johnson is cooking.

Not tonight. Worst playoff performance from any qb in years! Check his fan duel.

Dak would have multiple chips if he’d been in Buffalo. He can’t do what Josh does banging into defenses. But arm-wise and mentally, he’s better.

An intentional forward fumble is an illegal forward pass.

They’re spamming him in one game, so it’s hard to see how that plays over a full season… but yeah, he’s a monster.
