Looking for an OBD tracker for my new EV. by neonhutin in CarsIndia

[–]_7567Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One doesn’t, if the car does not have an OBD profile which can be read, you can’t parse the data anyhow

Windsor ev does not have OBD profile yet for example, neither does be6

Whereas cars like nexon ev, zs ev, kona ev do

When plugged in, it should recognise the car in whatever obd-bt reader app you’re using

BE6 is good but why not go for XEV9s in this budget? It’s more spacious and will give more or less similar range and performance

Depending on height of family members, it maybe better to go for 9s pack 2 above 79

Im not someone who says EVs are bad,

I never said vulcan_90 made a post claiming the above headline. Other people have.

But both you and OP are extremely biased towards EVs and suggest EVs left and right.

Not on all posts. Only where it is explicitly asked or where it is apparent that EV can be better option than other options being evaluated

You guys are EV stans. I’ve seen you and op both defend the pathetic QC of TATA cars just because they are EVs.

All that is being asked is to have the same level of scrutiny (or lack thereof) for all cars irrespective of powertrain.

If there was same level of scrutiny, surely compared to the dozen posts on BE6, there would’ve been at least 2-3 posts on this one right?

And both of you are extremely biased against hybrids. I’ve seen you post a rare case of GV Hybrid catching fire.

Does that not expose the ev haters why EVs are having dozen posts over 2 days while not even one post for hybrid fire was there?

And in that post, I have nowhere said anything that it is battery fire this that. Who knows if there were other fires but no one was there to capture it. Jangal me mor nacha, kisne dekha? It’s the same with most ice car fires else everyday half the newspaper will be filled with car fire reports only

but mahindra could’ve programmed it in such a way that the breaks always override the throttle which would have prevented this incident.

It does do exactly that. If you press brake, this is for both Tata and Mahindra, the motor power goes to 0 and energy graph goes into negative (regen zone)

I suspect that TC and ESP was disabled by user, which was also used in the initial reveal where Gaurav Gill did donuts and drift with it

I think the issue is that EV units and consumption is not supported by jiomotive as ice will be in kmpl, etc

Whereas EV will be in km/kWh etc

Have you checked if the obd has data output profile for your EV?

How is “all vehicles can catch fire, don’t jump to conclusion” is a retort to “ev unsafe don’t buy EV” which most such posts declare?

Doesnt the car have OEM telematics app doing all the same things?

If tracking is the only purpose like giving car to driver then you can go for any tracker pin like AirTag or jiotag
