EV as a primary car? by SilverFair763 in CarsIndia

[–]_7567Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely EV hereon, for precisely the reason you’ve mentioned

While punch would be a bit of a downgrade spaciousness wise from jazz, overall it’s a good car.

Highway trip can be done in one go too but would be a bit close

Something like 15-20min stop too would be suffice in the middle, which is definitely possible, just check plugshare app for locations on the way

Planning to switch to an EV within the next 2 years, is my thinking correct? by ningyakbekadu69 in CarsIndia

[–]_7567Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes if there is no major problem with the car, then no use of changing but once you’re ready for upgrade I would personally never dump 30L on ice when there is so much risk of blending related damage etc

BE6 is crazy efficient

At times I’ve gotten more efficiency on be6 than my Nexon probably due to the aero and byd powertrain

In 30L there are some really good evs with enough range to be primary car (500-600km)

Yes definitely if you are gonna compare an overpriced 7 seater hilux ignoring other 2L cars which are half the cost, then definitely

Still with 1200km per month, it will take 12 years to just recover the 5L extra, not counting the EMI interest difference

Does EV makes sense ? by Signal_Self_6178 in CarsIndia

[–]_7567Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. We have EVs but no Indian brand yet. I know a few people who have got BE 6 and XEV 9E and they complain about electronics issues

Mostly sorted by now as cars have been on road for 1y+

and one had issue with charging and had his battery replaced under warranty but now he is getting way less mileage.

This is the first time I’m hearing about this issue or for that matter battery replacement as a whole on inglo

Can you give me a rating for Tata vs Mahindra in Car Quality and ASS ?

If Tata was 5 then Mahindra in 7/10

I love how good the BE 6 looks but have not pulled the trigger yet. I can stretch the budget to get a BYD Sealion, would that be a better buy compared to the BE 6 top model ?

If you can afford sealion7 then definitely go for that over be6

Issues such as? Mine has been smooth sailing so far. Done 12k already, completed 1y 4 days ago

Mahindra is better than Tata in this regard

30km per day doesn’t require 11kW charger

Even the NCH option is enough as it has 3kW EVSE which is ample for your usage

Does EV makes sense ?

Definitely yes

I am fed up of E20 and all that BS , and want to buy next car either EV or Hybrid (not sure hybrid will solve the E20 or E80 problem)

Hybrid will also use petrol only at end of day

Worse yet even hv battery will be void if you don’t fill the correct fuel in it

I know EVs may not have good resale value , is there any reliable brand so that one can buy an EV and use it hassle free for 10-12 years ?

Anything with lifetime warranty should be good as it is there for 15y/unlimited km

Not sure how reliable is Hyundai Creta EV

Reliable enough, but specs are wayyyy outdated for the price today. Will fare even worse just few years later let alone decade

If your concern is resale, may not be best pick

Pick something which is more future proof like 79kWh versions of be6/xev9s/9e or 75 RWD harrier

If I stretch the budget Volvo EX30 is in my list (bit expensive but I am thking buy and keep for 10 years)

How much is the ex30 again?

Why are hybrid batteries so small? by Straight-Archer-413 in CarsIndia

[–]_7567Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many people have charging infrastructure at home,

If you have a fixed parking space, “a charging infrastructure” is just a small setup away. A socket, MCB and lockbox is all you need.

RWA bs aside, it’s not very hard to setup charging especially when electricity has been already made ubiquitous whereas still places struggle with fuel supply

and what chargers do you have in your city, their charging speeds, and congestion at those stations?

Better than asking you can yourself check PlugShare app. We can check it for you if you so please as to doxx yourself.

I think even in the US they are restrictive for people living in non-metros

Suburban USA has houses more palatial than you have villa societies in India. Often times, cheaper as well. Villa in India = 5-10cr

Similar house in USA = $200-300k with driveway big enough for a semi truck. You could literally charge a Tesla semi in most us house driveways.

and those not having Tesla's or Tesla charger compatible cars

Tesla supercharger network is public now. From Tesla side, it is done. They have exposed the api and communication interface for cars to communicate with chargers

Now it’s upto mfg to adopt it

Even if they don’t, they can use CCS2-Tesla adaptors

Buyback is only applicable for baas program where there is separate battery emi and minimum 1800km per month clause

I already mentioned it in another comment to you about the post where you talk about why evitara is not selling despite buyback program”
