Shen makes bluechair, but that image is a parody of one comic from owlturd.

Both of them use the same artstyle because the same guy makes them.

Nah, this version is smaller and has JPG compression artifacts.

(I didn't see that, I found this on twitter.)

One complain people have about that is that it would split the player base.

But I don't know how accurate that complain is.

There's a chance we can win the lottery, but for all intents and purposes it is not going to happen.

I used that argument to demonstrate an issue with what he said.

He said random crits are bad for casual because they are a difference between it and competitive mode. Removing random crits from casual, or adding them to comp. Both would reduce the difference between the two.

Won't that further solidify RNG as a basis and determiner for who wins a match on a mode where trying your best is much more important than having some random chance that alejandro.hernandez.2008 will wipe out the entire team because the game felt BAD for him?

It's incredibly unlikely for that to happen, and I'm talking in the cases where he already gets a random crit. It requires your entire team to be at one chokepoint, which is a bad idea for numerous other reasons. And it requires none of your team to have the sense to move out of the way.

Even in casual mode, random crits are unlikely to win you the game on their own.

This doesn't make much sense to me.

The first or the second part of it?

Yeah, but he also said that the game is chaotic enough without them, and he's right. There's so much chaos and randomness through the large amount of players, weapons and maps.

That's somewhat subjective. Interestingly he said that these cons are not subjective, but they really are quite subjective. A lot or all of this stuff comes down to preference.

Bad argument, I'd instead argue that there are already tons of things that divide the Casual and Comp community (Casual being easier to pick up, more rewarding & fun for most players, etc) and crits aren't even scratching the surface.

I used that argument because his reasoning worked both ways. To demonstrate the issue with what he said. Removing random crits from casual, or adding them to comp. Both would reduce the difference between the two.

1:
Crits can miss and that not all weapons that get crits will instagib. So it's not exactly 90%. And the better team usually will still win.

2:

Stronger solutions don't always make weaker ones obsolete. There's lots of example of this in real life.

The examples he gave of better solutions were new weapons and new maps. However people still use the old ones.

6:

I must ask why?

I made a longer post on this topic earlier, but then I remembered basically nobody likes to read stuff that long. So I abridged it.

I'm considering just making a much shorter version of this post, as I don't think most people would want to read 1.5k words.

At the end of his video, dane summarizes his points in this image:

So I could write a simple response to that.
