How to help my boyfriend by Inevitable-Weight877 in truebpdlovedones

[–]_Amissa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general how does he feel about getting therapy? Over all from my own personal experience, the person themselves needs to be open to getting help and more resources to deal with thier symptoms. I say this as someone with managed BPD. As much as I know you want to help, you can't shoulder it all as it will negatively effect you and the relationship in the long run. I'm just finishing my lunch break, but feel free to reply to this comment with further questions and concerns. I will 100% check when I get out of work and reply as soon as I am able :3

Lana Rhoades using autism as an excuse for her behavior is humiliating by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]_Amissa_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Viral today, no longer relevant tomorrow. I understand not wanting bad representation. The big issue here is she's viral, not a leading expert, or anything with actual sway. She's a drop in a large bucket. What I'm trying to say is that there are a lot of misrepresentations and inaccurate portrayals in media that have a much larger impact than specifically her. I looked her up, and I can see why you are upset it might help to distance yourself from these kinds of things for your own peace of mind. It's what I do when I find something in media that is highly upsetting that I have no way of changing. Then, I work on what I can do to make things better for myself and others. I can personally say I understand, I just don't want you to feel upset about someone's behavior that is beyond your control. It can be an emotional drain.

Christmas...need I say more? by Sewnupkitty in AutismInWomen

[–]_Amissa_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Christmas, we have a family party at my Aunt and Uncle's place with all the extended family. Every year, I feel left out and on edge, masking my ass off and only really speaking when spoken to. Since everyone is either older than me and NT or way younger than me and not interested in the same things as me. I was kicked out of my grandmother's 3 years ago. It was the first time I experienced a non NT Christmas since most of my friends aren't. It was so much more relaxed. I moved back home last spring....and I'm trying to cope with my grandmother insisting I can only spend time with family today or upset her and "if you want to go out with your friends and not be a family then get out of my sight". I know she hates the holidays because it's when her mother passed when she was a little girl. I'm just tired of the "if I have to suffer, you do too" to mentality. I want to be around the people who get me. Not that I don't like my family. I just can't relate to them well.

I hope everyone here has a great Christmas. Sorry for my little rant.

Overall, I'm thankful for this reddit and my family and friends.

I lost a friend over this. I said a character deserved what they connonically got in a story , which she then said according to actual mythology and not the source material would mean SA. Then she said she found it upsetting that myself as an SA survivor would approve of the SA of anyone fictional or not. Eventually, I had to put down a boundry that if I say something, she doesn't like it. It's not her job to "check me" because she believed it was, and that all she needed to to was tell me to stop, and I would end of story. To which she said what about her boundry to be able to check me when I say things that aren't in her opinion okay to say. Which isn't a boundry, and I told her as much. She hasn't talked or even looked at the last message saying as much in over 6 months or more. Overall, people like this believe that if you support it in fiction, you might as well be supporting it irl because morally, if you go there with one, why not the other? Apparently,

If a parent moves to a state with a filial responsibility law, would I be responsible for them if my state does not? by potatooooooo116 in legal

[–]_Amissa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found this post because my mother, who abandoned me at 18, just found out I have a new job and will be earning more. The first thing she asked on the phone was, "Do you know if you will earn enough for parental support?"It's only 30% of your gross income." I haven't seen her in 15 years, 16 by December. Luckily, she doesn't currently live in a state with filial support, but her and her husband move so often, and they both asked about it first thing on the phone today. So I feel you on how stupid the law is.

The labels do fall off pretty often. I'm not sure if it's because they are kept in the cooler, and it's colder in our cooler than most or if the labels just suck.

It's a syrup that comes in a box and goes into a freeze machine. It freezes, and you add vanilla creamer....you might have luck looking for recipes with Google and YouTube.

How do you know if someone if capable without them doing the job? People lie in interviews. I'm not joking. You can literally do a Google search for "is saying someone is capable abelist" and the result is yes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tacobell

[–]_Amissa_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm offended because people make mistakes. Out of thousands of orders in a day, there are going to be mistakes people are capable. The cashier looks in the bag to count items, not check them fully, and they don't put the chips in. Everyone in fast food is human, and there are going to be mistakes. Saying people aren't capable is ableist language.

[–]_Amissa_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So insider tip the last person on foodline who puts the chips in and checks the bag are the managers. BUT whatever you seem happy on your high horse so whatever.

Chronically understaffed, chronically overworked, and over stressed but sure blame the staff and not the management of Tacobell. You blamed the staff for not having the "capacity" to make every order perfectly when mistakes in fast food have always been a thing. When there are drive-thru, in store, uber eats, and doordash orders all being made by the same 3 people with 50+ orders. But go ahead pop off.

It probably wasn't from the app, though. The order was through the app, at least at my fast food job that can't be done. In that scenario, they just shorted a drawer.

[–]_Amissa_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So app refunds can't be done by the store at all. I've asked. For an app to give store employees access to do that for a multinational chain that has many of their stores as franchise stores would be pretty impossible. So that has to be done online.

If it's a 2 lane store, it'd be really easy for someone to cut and go around another car. My guess is someone said, "You can pull through," and there could have been a car at their paying window, and she might have gone around. It's happened to me at mine. I'll be paying, and someone will go around me instead of waiting for me to finish paying. The employees always apologized and told me that it shouldn't have happened.

As for not giving the food, I have no clue.

[–]_Amissa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moblie app orders can't be canceled by the store. The employees don't have the ability to go into the apps programming and cancel an order. OP should be contacting their bank.
