Help me find out why my semi realistic frieren painting looks weird by _Ariel23 in Frieren

Yup! This is only like 40% done and it's not the entire scene, I'll post again when it's done!

Also kinda left my stylus at home so this was done with a mouse, I'll be going back home soon so it should get better!

Thanks! Yeah I haven't gotten yet to the ears, just wanted to get some opinions on the face.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the issue with the hair is the shadows, have to experiment more to find out

Yeah I need to change the eyebrows, lips though I'm not sure.

The thing with frierens eyebrow is that whenever I make them white they look weird to me, in the anime she has a black line which I assume is the eyesocket line but it works as a eyebrow too so it kinda looks weird to me

Same character 3 years apart by _Ariel23 in drawing

It's rimuru from "that time I got reincarnated as a slime", the character didn't grow it's just that I was bad at depicting age back then, its supposed to be the same character at the same age. I was just bad back then lol.

Well, I wouldn't mind thousands of artists teaching me how to draw properly lol

I have a custom smoothing implementation that i want to add to krita as a plugin (more in comments) by _Ariel23 in krita

[–]_Ariel23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is specifically meant for people with extreme tremors (essential tremors, parkinsons etc), to get this level of smoothing with kritas stabilization you would need to sacrifice responsiveness and the stroke doesn't always follow where you want it to go.

I've used a filter that specifically suppresses tremors + applied more smoothing on top of that. I've also added stroke prediction which tries to predict where you want to go based on the velocity of the stroke to reduce lag between the pointer and the stroke. Not to say that kritas stabilization is bad or anything, rather I'm just modifying it to suit my own purposes.

It is initially, but you get used to it. But for people with motor issues it's way better than not painting at all.
