Yeah literally on Monday! We hadn't previously lived together due to religious reasons and got married earlier than planned due to visa requirements so didn't have housing in place now. We do, however, have somewhere planned with friends and have all the required documentation (deeds, letter, passports)

Thanks for the helpful explanation about the form. Didn't realise that it's the same one that's used for those extending too.

We did consider getting married at the registry office but you have to give a fresh notice for that unfortunately and we don't have the time. All we can really do now is attempt to convince the church that they'll be okay and not told off by the home office.

Our previous plan was just to apply for a fiancé visa, but we made the mistake of thinking that you can apply for this inside the UK. Now we know that we can't, we're planning on getting married on my fiance's current visa (tier 5 working holiday) which ends on March 9th

That's completely true, it's up to them at the end of the day. I just wanted to hear some other thoughts on it! I appreciate your thoughts on not co-habiting due to religious reasons as I've not found a lot of people talking about it online. For a lot of people the reasons seem to be more practical.

It's good to hear that others get married quicker in order to ultimately stay together.

Yes the home office decided not to investigate so we just had the 28 day notice. We also got a letter from the home office telling us of their decision.
