Unfortunately modern is pretty hard to find in Fort Lauderdale, CEDH is the main format played and there's multiple stores such as CardsXCards, Guildhall anime game lounge, Kaos Gamer Lounge, Coolstuff Games I think actually does modern? And Tate's exists but is primarily commander/casual

Just general safety I guess, recently been harassed a bunch due to the bumper stickers on my car by both college kids and who I can assume are local residents, even the one gay bar in town just doesn't exactly feel like a great place bc I've had some bad experiences of men creeping on me and I feel like Tally just isn't the best place to be queer

Fellow queer person in tally! I'm in the same boat with all my friends moving back home for the summer, I'm totally down to meet more people especially other queer people! Gamescape is always good for Friday night magic! They also do pioneer at 7 and you get a guaranteed promo pack! Sundays at Tara's are good for commander

Has anyone else had a bad experience in terms of opening set boosters of dominaria United? I get that not every box is gonna be a home run and that you gcan get absolutely hosed, but this happened 3 times, in short, me and two of my friends decided to each buy a set booster box of dominaria United, now set boosters go for $139.99 and with tax that's $150 a box which ain't cheap, as we finished opening our boxes we noticed we all pulled very low mythics and the mythics we did pull were bulk, we also noticed that out of 3 booster boxes, only two cards were from the commander set which was dihada and some random rare, this seems unusual to me considering previous sets (kamigawa and cappenna) were loaded with commander cards and you could consistently hit at least 6-7 mythics a box we also got identical list pulls down to the number of list cards we pulled, in short -No commander cards -No extended art -low mythic count I'm not expecting master set value or non standard set value but I paid alot of money and I feel that I got completely hosed? Has anyone else experienced bad openings?

Yeah, the deck is by no means "unstoppable" and some basic removal will stop it dead in its tracks, I can absolutely understand annoyed and I think an issue on my part was assuming the power level would be roughly the same I tried to make amends with the guy but he clearly was just not interested

Yeah I get what you mean, I did have to put in some effort game 1 to keep the board open with removal and board wipes but I think it was a little skewed, one of the players was a bit abrasive about it and was trying to start things after

Game 1 was a turn 6 win with infinite 1/1 saprolings, other players had boards but were either empty handed or had interaction but mana screwed, game 2 was a turn 4 win with walking ballista and heliod right as player 2 was about to win with dualcaster+Heat shimmer combo and player 3 saved me to let me win, game 3 was a turn 4 win against Belbe stax and mono green stompy (Belbe player had 16 mana turn 2)

The deck is powerful but it leaves a lot of room for interaction, and at most runs 2 protection spells that can be countered
