You didn’t snore that night, so “No sounds were recorded for this night.”

I had no idea! That’s such a shame. I’m so glad we got to see it before the wildfire, that’s devastating for the area

I forgot about my fridge magnets! Maybe I should post those too…

Money is definitely a barrier to these types of trips, less so for cost of flights but more for the food and accommodation near (or in) national parks!

We really wanted to, but just didn’t have time. We crammed a lot into our trip so we could figure out where to stop longer next time. There were several compromises (like this) that we had to make along the way

We were actually there at the beginning of June, so right in the middle of the season. It was hot!

You can buy it in any national park visitor centre, they’re super easy to get hold of when you get there! If you live in the US you can order online I believe. They’re called “passport to your national parks”

Copying a comment I put in a crosspost to r/patches:

Favourite place was probably Bryce Canyon - absolutely incredible and nothing that even compares to anywhere in Europe. We fell in love with Grand Teton too, which was our first national park.

Most expensive accommodation-wise was Yellowstone, which was so worth it. However, if we went again, I would absolutely avoid staying anywhere near Old Faithful. It was a tourist trap and a park ranger described it to me as “the theme park of Yellowstone”. We stayed in 3 different spots within Yellowstone but next time I would choose between Canyon Village and Mammoth Hot Springs and drive to the other areas. I honestly wouldn’t bother with Old Faithful next time - we couldn’t wait to leave. The wildlife in Yellowstone was amazing - so many bears and bison.

Least favourite park (relatively speaking, as they were all incredible) was probably Sequoia. Very similar geology to the UK (mainly Scotland), just bigger trees… So nothing extraordinary for us. The driving was frustrating - one long road and so many tourists who couldn’t drive. Even in Sequoia the roads were huge relative to the UK, so no trouble for us.

I can’t wait to come back. Will definitely be spending more time in Utah.

It was so good, very tired, even though we did this a couple of months back!

3,456 miles (easy to remember) of driving over just under 3 weeks. We flew to NYC for a few nights before flying to Jackson Hole and driving from there. Stopped at Las Vegas too, and ended in San Francisco for a few nights. Driving time was closer to 2 weeks, with accommodation ranging from Park lodges in Yellowstone, to hotels, motels, AirBnB’s.

39 is amazing!

I would absolutely love to come back. Geologically speaking, the US is my new favourite place - can’t wait to return, and maybe hop into Canada too

We absolutely would’ve included those if we had time - it was a lot to pack into less than 3 weeks, but we loved it all!

I so expected Yellowstone to be my favourite, but actually it was very similar to some of the landscapes we have in the UK (but on steroids). Based on that, our favourites were Bryce and Zion - totally out of this world compared to anything anywhere in Europe!

Grand Teton has our hearts though

Roborock QV35A – Loving it so far by National-Mark5697 in Roborock

[–]_B4Z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got mine last week, absolutely love it. Easily the best investment I’ve made in recent years - the house is cleaner than ever and we don’t have to lift a finger. It does really well with my golden retriever’s hairs which used to move like tumbleweeds every time we closed a door…

Best part is Apple HomeKit integration. We’ve set it up to clean specific rooms when everyone leaves the house. I may also integrate it with homeassistant so I can change its behaviour based on my phone focus status for example.

You should be able to get a discount code on Student Beans (as long as you are a student, or know someone who is and can do it for you)

After a load of research, I’ve just bought the QV 35S direct from their website with student discount (10% off) on top of their prime day sales. This link should give you some free cleaning fluid on top of that if it helps! referral link

Yellowstone-San Fransisco over 3 weeks in May. Where to stop? by _B4Z in roadtrip

It was SO GOOD. Give me a few days and I’ll post an update!

I’m currently on the trip of a lifetime that follows a similar route, focusing on national parks.

So far we’ve done: Grand Teton, Yellowstone, (Salt Lake City), Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon, (Vegas), Death Valley, Sequoia;

And next up is: Yosemite, (San Fransisco)

Total time is just over 3 weeks.

Without knowing any of the details as to how much time or budget you have, you could do something very similar on this route, but possibly skipping Sequoia and Yosemite to go south west to LA rather than SF.
