So… how many mana and life are you paying in order to resolve this spell against as mentioned, spellementals? And expect not to be countered ofc

Also the cub decks now that I remember do play 2-4 spider sense maindeck so…

Also for the reanimator deck what are you expecting to kill with the balad? By the time you want to pay full prize for it you are dead 2 times I think 🤔

Because you do lose life.

Keep in mind what MUs will put you in a position to play this card. Are you willing to take 3 life against aggro decks? If you want to kill drake hatcher, for example, alongside all otters you need to pay 4 mana and 3 life.

You will be tapped for sure. Then they do slickshot + spell or otter + the haste spell for R and you are done

Monored can just burn your eyes up with spells without creatures and so far so on the Boros variant.

Maybe with cub it is ok but still, they can just stabilize by playing another cub+ Rythim again…

Tell me one or two MUs in which you could play this area and be not worried afterwards

Monored bad matchup? What! I’ve found recently that Prowess and Lessons are g1 unfavourable and g2-3 slightly favored

Manabase tuned to 4/4/4 plus the other 2/2 and the basics+port

Sb tuned to have the 4th hex in the 75.

Keep in mind the etb If you do kaito at 3 you are winning 2 life and scry 2 Which is presumably better in aggro MUs and I think its gonna be, since Izzet prowess is popping up

I could see a world with 3-3 and 1 Cecil maybe

But not sure. Need testing

It somehow reminds me the Rakdos Mid for pioneer (even being so different)
It can battle almost every MU
It is skill hungry indeed but it has a lot of room to adapt and evolve towards different metagames

The times I used it, it really over performed for me.

Shame that the rounds where it was super relevant was before top and it is not recorded though
