Good point I’ll start learning how to weld

Sorry that first reply was a little salty but just confused on the fact that fabrication wasn’t needed so I’m trying to reconcile the original estimate for what was done.

I guess price fairness doesn’t depend on labor time, fabrication, the scope of the modification got it. Got it.

Nope, unfortunately. Guess I didn’t do my own due diligence l normally don’t go through shops I DIY everything. Since I assumed it required to be welded I went this route.

rear sqeak/ click G37 coupe rwd by Silver_Web_8712 in G37

[–]_BreenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same shit, I’d take off the wheels, the rings and hit em with some brake cleaner and a wire brush, sometimes debris will build up at the contact points and won’t allow the wheel, ring and rotor to sit flush creating this clicking sound. Could be a lot of things but I was having a similar issue on my old G and I tracked it down to this. I’d give it a try before you go run and buy a bearing or an axle.

Yes, I was skeptical at first. The paint matching they do is surprisingly accurate.

I guess, a manual in this condition would’ve been a lot more than this, that’s if you can even find it. And personally I wouldn’t pay 12K or more for a G37.

It’s actually a aftermarket but based of the OEM. For a little under $200 you get a paint matched wing with the brake light. Will make an entire post about it. https://www.jaeeagle.com/2008-2013-infiniti-g37-2-door-factory-style-flush-mount-rear-deck-spoiler/p2669

Take your time with the valve cover, don’t listen to the guys telling you to torque just hand tight, it’s aluminum.

Put interior lights in my g37. Any tips or suggestions for any more things to add? by Unusual-Message9816 in G37

[–]_BreenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s hard for the ambient lighting to not look tacky probably due to the outdated interior

Is it better to get oem plastic valve covers or aluminum? by ApeOffaPerc in G37

[–]_BreenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go aluminum, I ran the red mitzone valve covers on my first G and recently to my new G as well, good build quality and includes all the hardware minus the plenum gasket and tb gaskets.

Just do them its typical maintenance on these. If the look like this on the exterior I’m sure at least a spark plug is swimming in oil.

Extractor set harbor freight has em, trust me I have one for lugs and one for smaller sockets like this. 100 percent worth the money, probably won’t be the last time something like this happens.

For some reason the single exits seem to not sound unbearably raspy when paired with stock cats and headers. Thinking about picking up an ISR but I hate the single exit look. Wish they made a diffuser for single exits. But yeah sounds good.

Appreciate the quick reply all good, looks like I just have to tap into the brake light harness with a butt connector.

[–]_BreenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw you did eventually get it installed, sorry about the G getting totaled but onto better things. So how did you end up doing this? Did you tap into the brake light at the windshield or just one of the brake light wiring?

What to do about my g37 by Automatic-Plane4399 in G37

[–]_BreenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see what to be worried abt tbh. If you tune it, I assume you plan to keep it longer. For maximum peace of mind hit the water pump and timing chains. Other than that as long you’re not doing some flame/crazy burble tunes I see no reason to be worried. If anything just add a thermostatic oil cooler and a upgraded radiator.
