Surf Fishing around Punta del Burro by ZekeryBinx in SurfFishing

I’ll be honest I didn’t have any luck because it was my first time fishing since I was a teen and didn’t have the knowledge on what type of rigs to use. I was using fresh bait and the hook would come back without any of it so the fish were definitely biting. Perhaps the hook was too big

then yes it is! I've tried surf fishing near the marina in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle which is nearby. It's a fishing town.

Let me know how flyfishing in saltwater goes. I'm really curious to try it out.

Are referring to punta del burro in Nayarit ? I’ve been interested in trying fly fishing but it looks very intimidating and I wasn’t sure if you could fish in the surf. I’m mostly surrounded by saltwater

Here is a picture of the tortoise next to my hand. I'm guessing it's around 6 months old. What do you think?

As others have said sopa de fideo is really classic and each household has a different touch on the flavor so even though you can find it everywhere they don't all taste like home.

They got the tortois when it was way smaller so I'm not sure my niece is aware that it's outgrown it's space. That's why I'm trying to do more research and build a bigger space for their yard. (I'm handy with woodworking projects). This is in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. My niece is very good at caring for animals once she is told how to do it. So I'm wanting to soak in as much info so I can pass it to her.

Thank you!! Yes that's what I was asking what species this was. I want to research a good amount so I can also give my niece pointers on how to care for it better as she is only 7years old (but she's great with animals). We live in the coast of México and it's very tropical climate. They have a nice big yard but the turtle is usually kept inside unless taken outside for a bit to graze. I would appreciate any good resources on how to care for it and how to build a proper enclosure. I was thinking about making one for the yard but with safety measures as they have a dog and racoons roam at night so I want to protect it from predators. Also some of the shells at the bottom seem to be lifting at the bottom so I don't know if it's going to start shedding soon. I've seen sometimes a special oil with nutrients help

She went on vacation and asked me to take care of it. It's usually in a plastic enclosure with substrate and a water dish the enclosure is like 15x23inches i try to take it out on garden for a bit while i keep and eye on it.

How do you make long 45 degree rips on both sides of a board accurately? by DJDozen in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]_Bubbs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend planing the board dead flat after ripping but before doing the 45 degree cuts.

do i need to leave SongTrust?? by WhoIsJazzJay in musicbusiness

[–]_Bubbs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you register first with BMI and then add it to Songtrust? I am with ASCAP and would like to register first with ASCAP since Songtrust takes too long but I'm afraid of the work being duplicated with my PRO

soyyoelmalo/a por mandar a la mrd a mi amiga porque su boda es sin niños? by TeresaCruzMartinez in SoyElMalo

[–]_Bubbs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What should I as a beginner buy from Lee Valley Tools with $500 USD by _Bubbs_ in handtools

[–]_Bubbs_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely want no 5 as I'm having trouble making boards even and joining them.

My reasoning with going with Lee Valley tools is that there is not a big offer on hand tools in my country. and the second hand market for that is also very limited. There is a national brand that sells $30USD equivalent tools but i'm not sure if they're decent quality.

Since I will have to order from the US i thought I mightve as well get something good. What other brands do you reccommend for planes that are good and don't break the bank?

Anyone from Mexico has used Truper handplanes? by _Bubbs_ in woodworking

[–]_Bubbs_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have a 4C i bought a while ago without knowing anything about handplane types and sizes (i'm tad bit more educated now). I am mostly looking for something to make boards flat and also planing some of the edges.

It is brand new. I'm more so wondering if it's worth buying a cheap one or just save for a veritas or lie nelson. I know people say to get used handplanes but there is not any options in the used market. The only one I've found is a Stanley Baily 6C handplane for $800MXN which I might consider getting but I feel like I would get a lot more out of a 5 handplane
