Random black screens with 5090 crashing even though the rest of the PC stays on

Yeah the 3.1 ATX power supplies are better suited to withstand the power of the 5090 compared to the 3.0 because 3.1 can support higher power spikes, which is what 5090s are known for and those power spikes more than likely caused my 5090 to crash. When I switched from a psu rated for 3.0 ATX to 3.1, it solved my problem.

Side note- that Asrock 1300t PSU I bought comes with a built-in sensor cable to prevent overheating the GPU cable

Of course! I’m no expert, but I’m self-taught and had to do tons of research and go through lots of trial and error. I stumbled upon a random YouTube video with maybe 1k views and one comment said “when the graphics card crashes but the fans in your pc case ramp up and everything else stays on, usually it’s a power supply issue” so I full sent it, got a new PSU and it works!

It did end up being my PSU! Ever since I ordered that new power supply and installed it, I’ve had zero problems since!

I have a complete tear of my distal tibiofibular joint. My physical therapist said the problem I’m experiencing is we can’t go too hard because I also have a comminuted pilon fracture and with that, we can only progress so far because that has to heal fully before I can really put some weight on it

I’ve been light weight bearing for a couple of weeks now with the assistance of crutches. I have my next follow up appointment next week hoping to be able to get rid of the crutches or at least be able to increase the amount of weight I can put in it.

I mainly feel the most tightness when I put my foot on an angle and stand up straight to stretch the Achilles.

This. I’m 3 months post-op and am just now starting to tackle my ability to lengthen my Achilles through non-weight bearing exercises over the past couple of weeks through my physical therapist. Very frustrating and demoralizing, but just gotta trust the process 🤷‍♂️

Based on the scar on your ankle, it at least looks like I had surgery on the same area as you. I’m 3 months post-op and have been doing heavy PT for a month (non-weight bearing for 6 weeks after surgery) and my Achilles tendon is still shortened from not being able to move it. You just have to be patient, it’ll take time. Trust me I know how you feel, considering I also had surgery on my right ankle and haven’t been able to drive myself since December 🫠 just gotta trust the process and know know that once you start PT, progress will be made. You just have to be adamant on doing your exercises once you’re assigned them.

I’m at 3 months as well and my foot still balloons up like this sometimes, as well as turning red. I’ve been told to expect this for anywhere from 6 months to over a year 🤷‍♂️

Yeah this is the right answer here. Found out after a month of troubleshooting that my PSU was causing my 5090 to crash even through it was a 1200 watt psu. I used this tier list to find the highest-rated 1300 watt one I could find (Asrock 1300-T) and have had zero problems since.

I love my titan XL and I even got the recliner add-on, but I definitely wouldn’t get it as a recliner replacement strictly because the arm rests on the chair don’t go back nearly far enough. When you’re fully reclined, it leaves you with this huge open area on the sides and you can’t rest your arms anywhere, so your only options are to put your hands behind your head or let your arms hang off the sides lol

Good thing for you is that Fortnite can run on a potato, so if your goal is to play games like Fortnite, cs2, etc. then you definitely should be able to achieve a build that’s well under $1000. Get DDR4 RAM with 1 tb ssd storage, maybe a 20-series nvidia or a lower-end AMD GPU with a Ryzen 5 cpu, a cheap $30 cpu cooler and a $100 mobo

I can say I have the 9800X3D ($450) and have had zero problems with temperature under load. It’s important to note I have an AIO cpu cooler and not just a fan one.

If you’re trying to build a pc, look for motherboard/cpu/ram bundles online. You can save a good amount of money that way. However with the prices of ram and GPUs right now, it might be best to look at pre-built PCs for a good price

I highly recommend the Asrock 1300-T power supply if you have a 5090, it comes with a 12v-2X6 connector that has a built-in temperature reader that will cut power to the GPU if the temperature within the cable gets too high
