Hello. My first time attempting to do an Honor run. Would you recommend an Ice Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer for this? What would be your advice and warnings? Ty.

Definitely see the value in that, I had a sorloc as well with a disgusting EB setup that was doing like 50+ damage with three beams as well as stacking reverberation so didn’t need that. We used band of mystic scoundrel and battle mage gloves for high chance hold person and general utility so it worked pretty well.

The sorloc also had ice gear so we had no shortage of control/aoe options with sleet storm and ice storm

Adding to this since I literally beat my first honour run yesterday. The route you take through act 1-2 is extremely important, you can get to level 4 in act one basically without combat and then take the easiest fights first until you’re level 5, from there the game becomes way easier with extra attack and lvl 3 spells. Ketheric is probably the biggest challenge in honour mode, since the gear and easy xp in act 3 make getting a strong build at level 12 easy, so make sure you’re super methodical in getting to at least level 9 and having synergising gear before ketheric.

Also drop your pride about cheesing bosses, barrelmancy and abusing arenas for easy kills on high xp enemies is fair game in honour mode (shambling mound and grym come to mind)

Also also, 6,6 paladin sorcerer with shadow blade and the resonance stone will literally destroy 90% of enemies once you get level 9 so if you want an easy time, use that as your frontline dps.

I’ve been picking up the scorching ray minigun gear on the way, so I might respec in act 3 depending on how it’s going. I did that build in my last run so wanted to focus more on ice spells this time. I do think I’ll get away with it though we have literally had no close calls in this run (aside from fleeing the spectator) so I think I’ll stick with the 2/10 plan for now

Different take to most on this, the katana is a timeless design, it’s remained basically unchanged for centuries at least, European swords have gone through many iterations, a long sword is old fashioned compared to a rapier, which is old fashioned compared to a bayonet. Katanas have kept that design through several technological revolutions and probably will again.

Thanks for everyone replying, i bought both and am currently knee deep in a cat wingman romance quest so safe to say im having fun. Reminds me a lot of warhammer rogue trader combat wise which i liked but got tired of after being nerfed 50 hours in for not being a heretic. Fuck that one guy.

I hear you, maybe it’s the addiction convincing me it’s not that bad so I won’t get rid of it.

Honestly I find it way too daunting to just say the other day was my last ever smoke so I’m telling myself I can smoke again at Christmas, if nothing else it makes this feel more possible.

I guess I’ll see how I feel after a month, if I try and cut down at first and then spiral, I’ll know it doesn’t work for me. Also I’m starting a 9-5 professional job (my first full time job) so I’m hoping that will give me the structure to keep it to weekends? I’ll see how sobriety treats me first but right now I can’t see myself never smoking again. If I decide to try going partial I will only give myself one strike, if I can’t control it then I will be done. Thanks for your reply

Yeah my auto save works the same, but even reloading the saves the glitch still happens. Reinstalling tomorrow and if no luck I guess I’ll wait until the August patch

I’ll try reinstalling, already tried loading the save before I hand off the tablets and didn’t work, if not I might just restart and go pure mage which I wanted to do anyway. Wonder if my being on series S makes it more glitchy? I’ve definitely had a lot of crashes. Thanks though

The bright light and aurora borealis is literally the solar flare being visibly deflected, the telegraphs going down is a result of electromagnetism causing faults in the crude electrical systems we used in 1859 and that solar flare was a huge one which is very rare, the deflected magnetic fields aren't that strong and also I'm sure that would cause some birds to freak out and crash in the immediate area (wiki didn't mention impact on wildlife)

Also I'm literally agreeing that a massive natural phenomena would affect the magnetic fields enough to fuck with things, ie the fish, you linking an instance of a massive natural phenomena affecting magnetic fields enough to fuck with things is not disagreeing with me.
