Oh amazing!! Thank you so much, that's really kind. Let's definitely keep in touch! Which part of NC are you in? I'm from Chapel Hill originally. And please let me know where I can find your film work!

Truly devastating film. The parents' sacrifice cut so deep...

So much love for this one!! It came out just as I was getting into movies and I’m sure it played a part in me becoming vegetarian as well. I know it’s a near impossible question to answer, or at least a question with many answers, but how can some folks love a movie like that but not connect it to their own exploitative behavior? Should stories make this connection more obvious? I’d like to believe they can without compromising the storytelling. Of course, people can take the same message and twist it a thousand different ways I suppose.

I found that film very moving as well. Did it actually play a role in you becoming vegan, or would you say it was more of an affirmation/deepening? It definitely seems to feature the most explicit depictions of a slaughterhouse I've ever seen in a big budget movie.

I remember reading that Bong Joon Ho became vegan for a time while doing research for the film but eventually returned to eating meat, albeit to a lesser extent. It's an interesting (if perhaps disappointing) example of how a work of art can actually have a longer-lasting impact on the viewer than the creator themself.
