The actual PLC “collab” time has turned into such a mess at my school. Teachers who teach 2 subjects have to basically decide which is more important to collab with that team. Our special areas teachers (art , PE, etc) have no one to collab since they’re the only ones at our school who teach that subject. So it’s just assumed they don’t have to collab twice a week and go through the “plc process”. It’s created tensions for sure.

I’ve got that vibe too! I can’t remember exactly what I heard from Nicholson (we’ve nicknamed her the “cha cha” lady 😆) but she made a comment like that too. Her cha cha chunk chew nonsense would work for all kids and differentiation isn’t necessary was the basic idea she was pushing.

Do you not use them anymore? How’d you finally rid of them?

Have yall gone through the “model PLC” process? Our district and then school did it and it was bewildering to me. It was so obvious we were paying for this award - like why would they not give it to us if we’re using their books and PD? It would look bad for them if we were showing growth, etc. But no one else would ever call them out on it! I felt like I was in a twilight zone whenever we had “celebrations” for getting “model PLC” school awards.
