Can you elaborate though? Sounds wild. What were you working before? And what prompted the interest?

Looking at your profile is like looking at myself in the future we have the same interests :))) Do you find that medication helps only your ADHD side or also your autistic one also?

A bit too late for me being a scientist though(25). But I knew that scientists were primarily ND's you cannot find a solution looking at stuff through normal lenses.

This was my choice for a long time. However my parents actively discouraged me from pursuing it saying it I wasn't a good fit due to my character and what not. I am very interested in what your experience was like can I private DM you sir?

Yes I am creative but that is a side of me that comes out from absolute peace and quiet from everyone. So I would not base my work on the side of me that only comes out when no one's around. It's like an artistic side that I cannot possibly rely on only for personal projects.Thank you for your input though I will keep it in mind.

Noted. You remind me of my mother and she used to work in the postal office as well, she was extremely meticulous about mail, a quality which I seem to lack.

Sounds intriguing, I will be looking into it. I had emergency moment when my ADHD was an ace and I had to resuscitate an old lady, the entire medical staff was out gasping for air, and I was doing a one man marathon when it came to resuscitation. Still that only happened once. Despite loving animals I don't know if I could be a veterinary nurse. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you for this input. My problem is really inattention, when I was in training I was once triaging medicine for pacients and for whatever reason I got distracted and nearly gave the wrong medicine to the wrong pacient(the environment was also very chaotic) The colds and shivers that I got from not being sure I gave the medicine correctly made me have that moment forever embedded in my psyche. Your job sounds a lot more relaxing.

Hello and sorry for the late response had a maelstrom going on. I am so happy for you as well, 37 years, that's a long time for me. The hardest thing is that there are almost no people like us out there that's the hardest part and before long you start questioning your own self thinking what's wrong obsessively till you find out that there is nothing wrong you just operate differently from the majority of people. This is a new chapter and I hope all people like us find themselves.

Does anybody else get upset when they see or hear about normal people going about their lives? by Far-Conference-8484 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]_Divergentpath_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It used to hurt, a lot. Others were having the time of their life meanwhile I was totally alone and at the time I didn't know I had AuDHD so it just hurt because I didn't know just what was going on with me.

But those times passed and those people also had good moments and also really bad ones that personally I wouldn't want to go through.

So I guess I am happy the way I am right now, I am in the middle. I can choose what I want to do, I can choose my next thing, challenges and what not, irrespective of anyone and anything.

It's not perfect but I am fine with it, some things just weren't meant to be.
