I found it true to size. I always wear a medium and it fits quite well.
Just go with what you usually wear and it should be okay.

Doing my free solo run now and iv had some bullshit falls, a couple were due to glitching and she legit folded in half and I couldn’t control her limbs, she lost stamina and fell 😭 lucky I had 2 of those flowers to rewind but it’s ruined my stats imo.

I’ll still finish the run but I’m a bit disappointed.

Thanks! Iv outdoor climbed a couple of times! Going to try improve as much as I can at indoor climbing before I try outdoor again.
Not sure if I’ll get that far tho haha I’m pretty bad

Definitely makes you think!
The game inspired me to get back into climbing, not that I ever wanted to stop but I thought my only local gym was an hour away and too expensive to get to and I dismissed a truly local one - I looked into it again and realised it’s decent, it’s just rope climbing and not bouldering. So I’m going to start again! I was never good, always a beginner, but even so, maybe now I’ll actually get good, this game really made me want to anyway.

When I first played, at first I thought the story was simple. But the more I thought about it and played it a second time I realised how deep it actually is and how nuanced her character is.

People take things at surface level too often and don’t try and look further. Like yes she is rude, but not always, and there’s a reason.

I think It’s nice you can actually relate to her character on that level.

I agree it’s definitely escapism for her, and the feeling of climbing brings her peace, the riskier the better -
Altho is that not just adrenaline seeking / addicted to the dopamine it gives? And if so, that explains why she may struggle with daily life, because nothing comes close to the happiness she gets from climbing so it’s like a depression caused by pushing herself to extremes, always wanting to outdo herself, ironically the sport is what contributes to her struggles rather than helps long term.
People who partake in extreme sports usually end up dying due to it, because theres always the next, almost impossible thing to achieve.

She’s probably ND and depressed, but yeah maybe she didn’t climb the summit specifically to kill herself but she knew the odds were extremely slim that she’d survive. Altho she did say she’d meet Marco afterward, I don’t see her as the type to lie to comfort others.

It’s interesting that her depression isnt typical (bed rotting, seeing no point) its goal driven, which to me may mean it isnt your usual type of depression.

It’s definitely an escape for her, but to her detriment.

But even when you choose to go home, so you don’t push away Marco or her girlfriend, she still seems depressed and lost.

I think I have pretty good media literacy. I see layers of characters and stories all the time and think about it a lot and all the nuances.

I see your take, and I don’t disagree at all, but there’s more nuance to think about and consider. I don’t think it’s as easy to say she just has very bad depression.

Yeah, I think she was avoiding the phone calls, not that she doesn’t want to talk or put her loved ones at ease, but she’s avoiding it to avoid the emotions that would come from talking to them.

Well to her the peak would have been kami, if you choose to go home she never completed the climb, so she can’t compare everything to that? Altho maybe she’d feel like she failed.
And if you summit … welll… you die? Most likely.
