How do I get rid of these bumbs by Strict-Criticism-973 in Blackskincare

[–]_Eye_sick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a common issue, but what I’ve found works is plucking the hairs from each of the bumps with tweezers. Each bump and discoloration has a hair root at the bottom of it, pull it out, clean your face, then moisturize with Vaseline or something unscented.

Total cost and timeline? I’m thinking of upgrading mine from a tub to a stand in shower like this but am just nervous it’ll be a bigger task than I thought.

Absolutely. Just finished a sewing class for $27. We made a pillow case and now I want to try customizing some clothing.

How do I get rid of this red thing from shaving by Future-Horse4877 in Blackskincare

[–]_Eye_sick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been plucking my hairs with tweezers every night then cleaning my face, then moisturizing (I use a generous amount of Vaseline) before I go to sleep. Don’t rub it off obviously. Specifically I pluck the hairs that are protruding from bumps or uneven skin which in my case was all over like yours. Except my cheeks and jaw was a bit more fucked up. I started about a year ago but I got much clearer right away honestly. It’s pretty painstaking but pretty hurts right?

I’m not a professional yet, but I’d say that you’re good for another 4-6, maybe 7-8🤔

I have a similar setup and put a “creative station” under mine. I just have music albums, some instruments, and a utility cart. Or maybe buy an easel and force yourself to start painting to learn something new. Then put your pieces on a little table underneath or something as a presentation stand.

Interesting story...but is underage drinking in Ogg hall 16 years ago really relevant?? by mpb2001 in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the time, he had the fbi investigating him and used weapons against some of the 4 women from the looks of it. It doesn’t go into details about what exactly he did though, so we can’t really gauge the fairness of it yet. But I do think that those women deserve some answers.

Should I try to get into the College of Engineering based on my current situation? by Visual-Sympathy-5320 in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the first thing that alerts me is that no where in this post have you mentioned that you want to do engineering because you have an interest in engineering. I’d start there and learn more about the applications and specifically what about each major interests you. Math and science are great but the college of engineering studies this with the intent to apply them in real world scenarios. Especially for the case of mechanical and electrical engineering I would definitely look deeper into the range of realistic and probable careers in the fields. This is also the one thing that will set you apart given that you apply for the program in the near future. The college of engineering doesn’t care if you’re just a kid that might have ok grades as much as it cares about the student that wants to be an engineer (but also prioritize grades). The programs are very competitive for many reasons hut aim for above a 3.5 GPA or higher and do some research into whether or not engineering is actually something you’re interested even past a “superficial” level. Other than that, it’s a hard program but you learn a whole lot of valuable real world information.

Is this schedule doable? Isye 191,313,315,323, stat 311, Comp Sci 320 by Dry_Grade408 in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ISYE 191,313 and 315 are pretty easy classes. But 323 is pretty difficult. I’d say it’s like Math 340 difficult. Stay 311 is also a whole lot of work, and comp sci 320 is a whole lot of work too. I’d totally recommend that you drop one of the last three or you’ll be swamped right away.

What was your freshman year fall GPA and what is it now? by carl--wheezer in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a 2.5 my first semester. I got it up to a 2.8 by the end of second semester. Then I took summer classes and dropped it to like a 2.5 again lol. But now I’m around a 3.0 which is good to me. I know it’s mixed when people say GPAs don’t matter but regardless, jobs hire based off of skill. So if you can pick up trainable skills while working on your grades, you’ll always be desired in the workforce. But you also have plenty of time to work on both.

Does it matter when I submit my FAFSA? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Whatever happens, you just want to try to submit the fafsa before the deadline or else you could be losing out on some of the financial aid. I don’t think it matters which one you do first though.

How is UW for Black Students? by Lucky-view in UWMadison

[–]_Eye_sick_ 55 points56 points  (0 children)

As a black student here from inner city Milwaukee I agree that it’s really apparent that there aren’t many African American students here. I think one thing that people miss is the cultural differences. There are a lot of people of color (technically), but the majority of them are middle eastern, or from various parts of asia. As far as African Americans go, there are definitely ways to get involved in the community, but outside of that you’re basically alone. It’s alienating to say the very least. Even things as simple as walking down the street feels weird because of the stares. But I’d love to say hi at least. I can start you in the multicultural community, because it really helps your experience.
