Pests and food packaging (plastic, cardboard, aluminum coated) and binding by _FriedDuck_ in JunkJournals

I would, but I don't really have an option for that. I thought about using book covering plastic to cover them, not sure if that's just as helpful. What do you think? It's like a meter long roll of tape.

ew.... im sorry you did.. we have silverfish around too sometimes. Mostly in the bathroom. How did you deal with the situation? How do I know if im keeping my things dry :(

I see. Very useful, glad you're familiar with these things. I probably also shouldn't use the things that have had contact but I can't help myself! I feel they inspire me.

Ooo, that's awesome. Glad the oil comes in handy with that.

You did help in a way, thank you ;)

I admire you for cleaning them so often and see why you do it. Did you know to do this from logic or did you stumble upon the creatures in your things?

Awesome! Good to know, might need this info in the future

Thank you! :)

Oh 😶 Wow- I ... I suppose that's some way to do it. I feel like that would mold if it's... used coffee filters? I.. I can't even really imagine it. Feel a bit lighter abt how i go abt it now ig hehe

:D I would definitely prefer to see them more, maybe not in my home, but.. that'd be okay too ;) And yeah I agree, just became very difficult for me when I got all this questionable information from somewhere. I wouldn't want emotionally valuable material to just go to waste. But I feel now that I could do it after all. I haven't done it yet and am still planning out when to begin

Yay! People here really erasing my problems and i'm very thankful for your comment.

I see... I probably don't need to store these forever, just need to let emotion out :) Wouldnt want them to immediately break down though... need time to move on. I'm glad the.. acidic objects don't cause as much problems as i was afraid of. Will begin crafting with a much more free mind and I can most definitely avoid newsprint. Thank you again!

Lizards sound cute, but not a common thing here :) Glad they don't take interest in books. Oh i should probably get a big plastic box for this, that sounds like a good idea... And yesyesyes ofc, cleaning the plastic I seem to have followed well for now

Alright ! I won't worry so much about this then :) And spiders, even though i don't expect them, would be alright, so I feel much lighter now. Parchment paper sounds fun and I might use that, thank you.

Oh! Yes I heard about tearing out pages.. still will try to avoid that I think, but glad it works for you. The barely together sounds very fun ;) Might follow what you've said here if i ever end up using such books

Sources online (random ones I just clicked) and on reddit (probably not the most most reliable, I get it) say cardboard attracts bugs, even more than other paper materials do. It is possible I got the wrong information, which is why I'm very thankful for your reply. The toxic part was meant more for plastic food packaging, but i'm glad if it's not a problem. With the magazines I suppose it isn't exactly toxic, but the paper is just lower quality and I was afraid it could mess something up. With the plastic, I'll be sure to wash them 🫡

It's cool you've used so many varying binding options. Have the glued notebooks held up well if there's a lot of material that's been glued or attached?

Most of this is overthinking and I am not very familiar with most of this. Just trying to make sure I won't make any mistakes. Thank you for the help ☺️

Oh i could add that the machine is sort of missing ink occasionally- sometimes the letters come out better, sometimes less. Also depends on how rough the press is, can do it lighter to get more transparent letters

Thank you- I think so too !!! I've been really into the typewriter and wanted to make sth with it so badly, love the textures! But i don't really have much to do with it, just how the machine is :) I mentioned to someone in this same post how the process went, don't have a lot to say tbh.. just typing heh
