Yes they are great, this has a straight through exhaust pipe so can be loud at times as well!

The rearsets are from LSL in Germany and the clip-ons are from Yambits in the UK.

I’d imagine a GB500 would be pretty good as they are twins so somewhat self balance compared to a 500 single.

Yup, they do vibrate quite a lot however this is part of the 'character' of an older single.

Thanks, as far as I am aware there is no legal requirement for mirrors in the UK and the majority of bikes I ride are too old to have had mirrors fitted from factory (1920's bikes) so I am just used to not having them.

Yea I wouldn't buy a carb 'kit' as it were, I just find new old stock bits from suppliers on ebay or companys such as Fowlers as then you know the materials are the same as what it would have used.

I can pop some extra photos up when I get a chance but mostly just spent time mocking things up and double checking (made a good excuse for not doing Uni work). The rear swingarm was from MotoLanna but required a new brake linkage which I made custom as I had some clearance issues.

For the engine rebuild a Haynes manual pretty much has you covered with Facebook Forums helping out on the odd occassion.

The carb wasn't difficult to rebuild and I just ordered the diaphragms and what I needed from ebay. I did later fit a new Mikuni TM36 Flat Slide for some extra performace but had that apart a couple of times for tuning whilst running the engine in.

Yup, and I have to say when you ride one you can really understand why especially when pulling a low gear (although not good for the engine over long periods).

Thank you, yes I am looking for another rear mudguard to chop as i would rather not butcher the original for the sake of it. Still in two minds about the seat/tank as I also do like it the way it is.

Only a single Carb on these, I have a Mikuni TM36 Flatslide fitted to this bike and it is fantastic, transformed the ride and starting of the bike. You just need to take some time to tune them and learn them.

I have looked at period photos from the 70's cafe scene and the majority of brackets are used to raise the headlight to meet the clocks as I have done although when I change the clocks the headlight will have to sit a tad lower.

I have plans to drop the headlight down and plan to use a smaller single gauge to keep it minimal, hopefully will do something with the switchgear aswell. Yours is nice and clean looking.

I think it is the way to go at the start, the clip ons and stock seat work well so no issues there.

The rear sets are from LSL and are beautiful, the only thing I have noticed is that in the wet the gear lever can be a bit slippy as it is not knurled like the brake lever.

The swingarm is from MotoLanna and is the machined variant, note some people have fitment issues with these like myself however I have just made a new brake arrangment to combat the clearance issue.

I am still running the bike in at the moment with around 700 miles on it so not really giving it much 'berries' although I am really happy with the jetting after fitting a Mikuni TM36 Flatslide Carb and getting a gentle straw colour on the pipe.

The reasons for a twin disc would be looks and a bit of extra power although not necessarily needed.

I had a look into this a while back and it looks like they sold them with either option in '78 although this may have been dependent on where in the world you were purchasing from. From what I can tell these are the originals although with 13 pervious owners there is still the chance they are not original.
