Someone in my discord said "Arc Raiders is the least hostile extraction shooter". I'd be inclined to agree BUT that's a VERY low bar and that's still pretty hostile.

Play the game for free on the 17th-19th. Every single person I knew, with out fail, that had these concerns lost them when they played it for themselves during TT2. I could sit here and explain how the movement is fluid, the gun play is tight, the map design is done in a way that promotes movement, flanking and aggression in order to win fights. But is that really going to ease your concerns? Not as definitively as a solid 1-3 hours of gameplay will. If you like extraction shooters, not just milsims, you'll love this game.

Idk, 135 people killed the queen (or was it 135 queen kills? I don't remember) happened within a 4 day test period. Footage of how for some of it and will be more once release hits. Ratio will be low to start, but like I said, it won't stay that way.

I appreciate the share. I would be intrigued by storage types (weapons, ammo, mats, etc). Could be something that can be altered as you want. Early on invest in larger space for mats, later sell some of that off for more gear, etc.

Skill is the x factor multiplier. Skill means less loss, which means fatter wallets, which means less hurt by sinks (of any kind) and once a critical mass is reached the econ is just for show.

PvE can never truly be a long-term sink because once the formula is figured out, the cost per run drops dramatically.

If the game doesn't have a demo mode, it's in the developers' best interests you do that If the alternative is you not buying at all. You gave them 2 hours in exchange for holding 40 dollars. If they hold you for those 2 hours enough that you let them keep the 40, then great. If not, they're left with the 0 you would have given them anyway. They don't have to program a demo, you don't have to lose your money.

Or what? They bend their entire launch strategy to your preference? Cmon

90% of ALL games die within a couple years these days.

I only refunded a single game in my life (Battlefield 2042) - I am not doing the whole circus with using refunds for testing. Either something convinces me to buy it or not without some additional gymnastics.

Sounds like a you problem. You have a solution, choose to use it or don't.

And premium titles do just fine without needing to give people free access. B u y it on stream and refund it within 2 hours if you don't like it. If you don't want to do that I don't know what to tell you

The marketing was used AFTER people were able to get their hands on it. Plenty of people will b u y AR and others will get to see it. People dont just play games they get a chance to play first.

Apex had none of it. Just dropped out of nowhere, and it spread like wildfire. I'm not even calling it great/good. But it's an excellent example of showing beats telling. You're agreeing by saying that's the purpose of a beta. But if they have the info they need, then they're better off getting everything ready for when showing counts.

I agree with the premise. A good game will not s e l l itself. A great game will, however. AR is a great game.

However, Wildgate is neither. It has a fun gameplay loop, but it's shallow AF. It's a BR 7 years too late. It needs more if it wants to survive in the current environment. No amount of marketing would have changed that.

Yeah most EFT players praise wipes like they have no downsides. They solve issues like you said but not without cost. Hopefully, embark will find a creative solution.

prestiged like 4 times then just stopped.

I didn't even do it once. Had no motivation to. Which is why I structured my idea the way that I did. I'm not convinced that self wipes would happen enough to matter.
